The information related to Shibai Otsutsuki’s origin is still a mystery. Shibai is a member of the fearsome, celestial Otsutsuki clan. Being a member of the Otsutsuki clan, he followed the path of cultivating the God Tree on planets and then devouring the chakra fruit of the planet to evolve. It is stated that Shibai devoured an unfathomable amount of chakra fruits and attained godhood, essentially making him an Otsutsuki God. After attaining godhood, Shibai transcended and shed his physical body, making him unperceivable to common beings, even to the members of the Otsutsuki clan.

In Boruto chapter 75, Amado revealed the existence of the Otsutsuki God, Shibai Otsutsuki. He stated that he devoured countless planets and eventually gained godhood, and then willingly discarded his physical body to transcend into a higher dimension. Somehow, Amado came into possession of Shibai’s remains and used it to replicate his shinjutsu prowess by transplanting Shibai’s DNA into some members of the infamous criminal organization, Kara.

Based on the information in hand, Shibai has transcended to a higher dimension and is unperceivable to common beings, even to members of the Otsutsuki clan. However, Shibai is considered deceased as he discarded his physical body but it is believed that he exists in a higher dimension but remains unperceivable.

Shibai is merely mentioned by Amado and Momoshiki Otsutsuki, so it is close to impossible to deduce his personality. But, based on the available information about him, it can be speculated that Shibai considered himself divine, above other beings including the rest of his clan, and did not hesitate to devour planets, essentially killing all life on the said planet, to evolve.

Shibai's silhouette revealed him to be a slender man with long hair that reached his lower back. It appears that he wore ragged black robes and his horns curved upward like a crown above his head. Similar to Momoshiki Otsutsuki, he possessed a Rinnegan positioned vertically on his forehead and a Byakugan in his right eye. It is also believed that he possesses another Dojutsu (visual prowess) that hasn't been introduced in the series yet.

Although the full extent of Shibai’s prowess remains a mystery, some of his abilities are revealed in the Boruto manga series. It is stated that Shibai was a user of shinjutsu, a pure, divine art that is unlike any other form of jutsu introduced in the series so far, neither ninjutsu nor senjutsu, accessible only to the members of the Otsutsuki clan. As the term shinjutsu suggests, shinjutsu is the true, pure art of things in existence. Amado revealed that Eida’s ability of enchantment, the senringan that allows her to peek into all things happening in the world and browse through past events, and Daemon’s ability to reflect all harmful intents and attacks intended towards him, are forms of shinjutsu originally possessed Shibai Otsutsuki that manifested in Eida and Daemon after they received Shibai’s DNA.

As impressive as these abilities are, these are still just a tiny fraction of the prowess that Shibai possessed. It is stated that he possessed incredible and potent abilities, and the true extent of his abilities remains a mystery to this day.
