During the Chunin Exams, Shimon was one of the important overseers who watched over the exam candidates, especially during the written test. He would call them out if someone tried to cheat more than three times.
In the anime, Shimon was sent by Tsunade, the village leader, to check if there would be an attack on Konoha. But later, they discovered it was a trick by someone named Gennō. Shimon and two others helped Inoichi Yamanaka read someone's thoughts to get important information for the village.
When the bad guys attacked Konoha, Shimon and his friends distracted one of them called the Animal Path. This distraction allowed Inoichi and the others to escape safely and study the information they had found.
Shimon seems quite calm and composed because he never said a word in anime.
Shimon has medium-length brown hair, and two bangs of strands fall onto his face. He dresses in a basic Konoha outfit with a head protector, which consists of an olive jacket and black trousers.
Shimon Hijiri has not shown any abilities, but as a chunin-rank shinobi, he must have known all the basic techniques. As in the Analysis Team, he must know some techniques related to it.
