Life of Shira

Shira, a young man from a small town near the northern border of the Land of Wind, had a tough start in life. He had a natural inability for genjutsu and ninjutsu, which meant he couldn't attend the ninja Academy due to a rule set by the Fourth Kazekage.

His peers ridiculed him for his shortcomings, which made life even harder. But Shira was determined to become a ninja through taijutsu alone, using unconventional methods to improve his skills.

One day, the new Fifth Kazekage, Gaara, noticed Shira's impressive taijutsu abilities. Gaara saw potential in Shira and broke the rule preventing him from entering the Academy. Gaara also began training Shira in taijutsu but even though Shira's skills improved, many people who once mocked him became jealous of his newfound luck.

Despite the challenges, Shira eventually graduated from the Academy and decided to participate in the Chūnin Exams to help boost Gaara's reputation as the Kazekage.

Chunin exams

Shortly after Gaara became the Fifth Kazekage, Shira's team entered the early Chūnin Exams co-sponsored by Sunagakure and Konohagakure. Shira and his team were separated into different rooms in the initial written test.

Shikamaru Nara explained the test's goal on a monitor and Shira’s team successfully passed the first round by scoring 100 points, leaving a bonus question unanswered.

In the subsequent preliminary round, a race to Suna, only the first 30 teams to arrive would move on to the next phase. Shira's team managed to secure a spot among the first 30 teams. During dinner that night, a brawl broke out among the genin, and Shira displayed his impressive taijutsu skills by stopping an attack from Rock Lee. Fū's optimistic presence diffused the tension.

The next day, the second phase of the exam began in the Demon Desert. Shira and his team devised a plan to help all Suna-nin teams advance. Their efforts led to a confrontation with Team Guy, considered the strongest rival team. Through a clever genjutsu from Sen, Team Guy was sent into the Sand Waterfall Pit. Following this victory, Shira's team began strategizing with other Suna-nin on how to deal with the remaining enemy teams.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the other Suna-nin betrayed Shira's team and attacked them, perceiving them as weak. Fortunately, Team Guy, including Rock Lee, returned to their aid, forcing the treacherous Suna-nin to retreat. Shira, severely wounded, guarded his team with his body as Yome began healing him.

Team Guy explained that they felt compelled to save them from their unfaithful allies. Shira's fellow Suna-nin had no respect for him due to his inability to use ninjutsu or genjutsu, which reminded Lee of his own struggles.

Lee's team overpowered the Suna-nin, who had targeted Shira's team, leaving them vulnerable. When Shira's team arrived, he pleaded with the Konoha-nin to let the situation be, taking responsibility for the distaste others felt toward him. Shira saw this as a chance to prove himself and be recognized in the future.

After some discussion, Shira offered his scroll to the Suna-nin team that had initially defeated his team, but they declined. Instead, they handed over their respective scrolls, recognizing Shira and Lee's determination.

Lee then challenged Shira to a one-on-one battle. Their extraordinary taijutsu skills were on full display as they matched each other in raw speed and technique. Shira had a slight advantage due to his solid build and greater strength. However, Lee's tactical adjustments began to push Shira back.

In a crucial moment, Shira thanked Lee for helping him become a ninja. Lee insisted it was Shira's own determination that deserved recognition. Shira removed the pressure points he had blocked earlier to allow Lee to use the Eight Gates.

The two formidable fighters engaged in intense combat as Lee unleashed the Eight Gates and Shira employed the Seven Heavens Breathing Method. Unfortunately, Shira's previous wounds reopened, prompting Lee to halt the battle. While being healed by Yome, Shira revealed his post-Chūnin Exam plans: he intended to join a special force on the northern outskirts of the Land of Wind to protect his parents. Lee wished him luck and acknowledged their new friendship.

On the final day of the Chūnin Exams, as Shira's team had not found a matching set of scrolls, they decided to accept defeat. However, Matsuri, a former student and fellow admirer of Gaara, approached them. Shira agreed to battle her without intending to obtain their scroll, and he emerged victorious. Following this, Shira and his team awaited the conclusion of the second exam in the main building.

Ultimately, the Chunin Exams were concluded prematurely due to controversy during the second phase. Gaara decided to send reports on each participant to their village leaders to determine if they should be promoted.

As a newly promoted chūnin, Shira fulfilled his original plan by enlisting in the special force, wearing Lee's present as a symbol of their friendship. He bid farewell to Sen as he departed with Yome, who had also enlisted in the same special force. Shira's journey through the Chūnin Exams was marked by personal growth, lasting friendships, and a steadfast commitment to his dreams.

Shira’s Personality

Shira's personality is a mix of unwavering pride and deep humility. Despite being looked down upon for his limited skills, he never blames others and firmly believes in the power of true determination to succeed. In the Chūnin Exams, he showcases a meticulous and thoughtful approach, carefully observing his opponents before acting, demonstrating his level-headed nature. Shira's loyalty to his allies and leader, Gaara, is evident throughout his journey.

In battles, he remains calm and controlled, using his abilities effectively while maintaining his strong sense of pride and humble gratitude for the friendships he forms. Shira's character is a testament to his steadfast commitment to his goals, his humility in the face of challenges, and his unwavering belief in the importance of determination, making him a resilient and admirable figure in the world of Naruto.

Shira’s Appearance

Shira usual attire includes a long, sleeveless dark green shirt, which he ties with a light green sash. He wears grey pants and black arm braces. His forehead protector is attached to the bottom of his shirt, and he has bandages on his right biceps. Shira also wears a small amber magatama necklace. After becoming a chūnin, Shira wears an outfit identical to Rock Lee's, given as a gift by the Konoha ninja.

This new outfit includes a green jumpsuit that covers his arms, legs, and neck, along with orange leg warmers. Shira is a tall and fit young man with light skin. His spiky taupe grey hair is combed backward, with two bangs falling in the front. He bears several scars on his face and body, making him look older. Notably, he has a vertical scar on his throat and a blue dragon tattoo on his right shoulder.

Shira’s Abilities

Shira possesses remarkable abilities, especially in combat, despite lacking genjutsu and ninjutsu skills. His journey is a testament to his self-taught prowess, making him a formidable ninja. His primary focus is on taijutsu, which he mastered to an exceptional level, becoming a master of hand-to-hand combat.

Shira could hold his own against the formidable Fifth Kazekage, Gaara, in one impressive display. During the Chūnin Exams, multiple enemy teams joined forces against Shira rather than face him alone, highlighting how dangerous he is in battle. His precision in attacks and battle methods is striking. When demonstrating his skills to Gaara, Shira showcased his excellent reflexes and evasion abilities, easily maneuvering through Gaara's sand attacks to get within striking distance.

Defensively, he could block kicks from powerful opponents like Lee and all the strikes from Neji Hyūga's Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, leaving both opponents astonished. Shira's physical strength is also remarkable. He can send an opponent flying with a single kick and use his body to defend against other attacks.

His speed is on par with Rock Lee without Lee's ankle weights, and he achieves this speed without relying on ninja techniques or chakra enhancement. Thanks to his larger frame, he possesses high stamina and endurance, making it easier to withstand enemy blows.

One of Shira's signature techniques is the Silent Fist, which allows him to strike silently by masking his attacks with chakra. This makes it extremely difficult for opponents to anticipate his moves. His most potent technique is the Seven Heavens Breathing Method, which quadruples his lung capacity, granting him physical prowess similar to the power of the Eight Gates. Shira can fight on par with Lee while he’s using five of the Eight Gates when using this technique.

In terms of chakra, Shira has honed his abilities to a high level. He can internally mold his chakra, making tasks like walking on quicksand effortless and augmenting his attacks with chakra. His control over chakra is potent, allowing him to effectively expel chakra from any of his tenketsu (chakra points), reducing or neutralizing damage from enemy attacks.

Shira's intelligence is another notable attribute as he's highly observant and analytical, able to deduce his enemies' strengths and weaknesses after observing their fights. He's also skilled in creating powerful techniques and possesses knowledge of various jutsu and their mechanics. Additionally, Shira's teaching abilities shine through his training of Gaara, helping him become a more skilled combatant by relying less on automatic sand defenses and more on direct combat skills. Shira's abilities and intellect make him a formidable and resourceful ninja.

Seven Heavens Breathing Method

Shira uses a technique that helps him breathe better during a fight. It's like getting a big burst of energy that makes him faster and stronger, similar to when some ninjas use the Eight Gates. It's a way for Shira to keep up with powerful opponents in a battle.

Silent Fist

The Silent Fist is a clever move that Shira does. It allows him to hit his opponents without making any noise. This surprises his enemies because they can't hear his attacks coming. It's a sneaky way to fight and catch his opponents off guard.

Tenketsu Blocking Strikes

Shira has a set of strikes that he uses in a fight. He aims for specific points in the enemy's body, like chakra control centers. By hitting these points just right, he can mess up the enemy's chakra flow, making it hard for them to use their special ninja powers. It's a smart way for Shira to fight by using his chakra knowledge.
