Shiro’s Background

When Shiro was just a small puppy, he fell into the river flowing through Konoha, also known as the Hidden Leaf Village. He was about to drown in the river. Fortunately, Naruto Uzumaki saw Shiro in distress and jumped into the river to save him.

With the help of his father, Minato Namikaze, Naruto successfully rescued Shiro from drowning. At some point after this incident, he was adopted by Sasuke and Itachi as their pet dog.

Shiro made his debut in Jiraiya Shinobi Handbook: The Tale of Naruto the Hero. In the book, Shiro is seen with Itachi and Sasuke when Naruto arrives at their house looking for Sasuke. Later, Shiro is seen with Sasuke as he recalls the day when Naruto saved him from drowning. Two years later, before leaving Konoha, Sasuke bids Shiro farewell.
