Sota’s Background

There is much uncertainty about Sota's past as we still don't know anything about his clan or his history. He debuted in Naruto’s Favourite Pupil, episode 234 in the Paradise Life on a Boat arc in the Naruto Shippuden anime.

In the arc, it was revealed that during the attack of Pain on Konoha, Sota found himself trapped under some debris with one of the Animal Path's Giant Centipedes inching closer to him. Just when he thought it was the end, Moegi appeared out of nowhere and heroically came to his rescue. With Moegi's help, Sōta was finally reunited with his mother, bringing a moment of relief in the midst of chaos and destruction.

Sota hasn't shown up since these appearances, and his absence makes it impossible to ascertain whether he's dead or alive. Sota is currently assumed to be alive and well unless any information surfaces indicating otherwise.
