Spirit Beast’s Background

Very little is known about Spirit Beast as its past is still shrouded in mystery. However, it is stated that originally, the Spirit Beast was an enormous catfish that possessed the power to shape chakra. Eventually, it was trapped and sealed inside the Valley of Evil.

The Spirit Beast was imprisoned in a deep cave located within the treacherous Valley of Evil. Unfortunately, Gensho and his followers released the beast from its captivity, unleashing a dark fog that took control of the minds of anyone who entered it. The fog threatened to spread and envelop Konohagakure, also known as the Village Hidden in the Leaves, within seven days, putting the village in peril.

Gensho's goal was to harness the beast's power to dominate the world, bringing about a new civilization with himself as the ruler. To stop him, Naruto Uzumaki, the protagonist of the series, and a team of ninjas from Konoha and Sunagakure (Village Hidden in the Sand) attempted to seal the Spirit Beast using five spirit mirrors. However, their efforts were thwarted when Gensho merged himself with the creature in a last-ditch effort to defeat the group.

A fierce battle ensued, with the group ultimately emerging victorious and defeating the colossal creature. It is presumed that the Spirit Beast was vanquished once and for all.
