The details of Tagitsuhime's past are rather mysterious, and very little is known about her upbringing. In the anime, she only made a few brief appearances.
Tagitsuhime made her anime debut in Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in episode 75, “The Trials of Ryuchi Cave”. In the episode, Boruto Uzumaki, the son of the Seventh Hokage, successfully completed Ichikishimahime’s trial but Tagitsuhime sneaked up on Boruto from behind and bit his neck, trapping him in a genjutsu.
The genjutsu trapped Boruto in an illusion where he saw all his friends complaining about all the mistakes he has made recently. Boruto managed to overcome the challenges presented to him, breaking the genjutsu. Then Tagitsuhime led Boruto to where his unconscious friends were lying, along with the White Snake Sage.
Afterward, Tagitsuhime witnessed Boruto and his friends departing to search for Garaga. She expressed her concern to the Sage about the promise she had made, but the Sage had doubts about their ability to survive if they were to confront Garaga.
While Tagitsuhime's cohorts may have shown some restraint, Tagitsuhime herself appears to be more ruthless as she abruptly attacks Boruto without warning. However, like the others, she does demonstrate respect towards those who successfully pass the three trials.
Tagitsuhime may appear to be human, but in reality, she is not. Her disguised form includes fair skin, big purplish eyes with thin eyebrows, and dark hair, which is styled in a single bun on top of her head that cascades into a ponytail that reaches her back.
Her attire consists of a long, flowing white and red robe, and underneath it, she wears a long red dress. She accessorizes with a golden tiara and a necklace that boasts three red tomoe.
Tagitsuhime can float in the air and eat people's chakra. She can turn into a human-like form with snake-like features.
Tagitsuhime possesses Yin Release chakra. When she bites someone, she can cast a powerful genjutsu, making her victims see things that aren't there, including illusions of their friends talking about their fears and doubts. Although it is almost unbreakable, If the person believes in themselves enough, they can snap out of it.
Tagitsu-hime-no-kami (湍津姫神) is most likely the inspiration for her name, one of the names of the three deities worshiped in Munakata Taisha.
