Teuchi in Naruto

Teuchi has devoted his life to making ramen ever since he was a teenager and started his ramen bar 34 years before the Fourth Shinobi War began. A decade since his bar opened, he had a daughter named Ayame but there is no information about his wife.

A day before the Third Stage of the Chūnin Exams, Teuchi served Naruto with a free bowl of expensive ramen, thanking him for being his valuable regular customer and wished him luck on his Exam.

At some point, Teuchi’s daughter Ayame gets kidnapped by Hakkaku, a cooking-shinobi from the Land of Lightning, who demands Teuchi’s Special recipe as a condition to set her free. Teuchi was found preparing a new ramen when Naruto and Chōji broke into the Ichiraku Ramen bar to have some delicious ramen.

Naruto, Sakura and Chōji offered to assist Teuchi, Teuchi taught them the recipe of ramen. When they went to confront Hakkaku, the three took advantage of their ninja techniques to make a perfect bowl of ramen. After Hakkaku and the cooking-shinobi ate the ramen, Teuchi explained that the recipe was just removing the bitter taste from soup.

After Ayame is rescued, they stare at her in shock as she had grown fat being unable to resist the cooking-nin’s food, much to Teuchi’s dismay.

Later, Teuchi developed a diet for Ayame to bring her to her regular self and the diet ramen got included into Ichiraku’s menu. He also appears to have lost extensive weight after having the diet ramen, much to Naruto and others’ shock.

Teuchi appeared at times for a couple of moments when various shinobi visited the Ichiraku Ramen bar.

After Pain’s assault in the village, Sakura rushed into Ichiraku not long after Tsunade regained consciousness to tell Naruto and Teuchi what had transpired. Teuchi offered both Naruto and Sakura a bowl of ramen on the house after hearing the good news. He was, however, greatly confused when Naruto was reverse-summoned to Mount Myōboku just as he was ready to eat.

Teuchi questioned where his best customer had vanished when Naruto showed up again in Ichiraku Ramen. Teuchi happily observed how Naruto was referred to as the “Miracle boy” and the irony that not long ago he was thought of as the opposite when the other ninja customers sought his autograph.

After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Teuchi was seen in Konoha talking to his daughter after being freed from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

After some time, Teuchi reflects on how well the business has been at Ichiraku Ramen recently and how the popularity of the Naruto topping has changed. Previously, it was easily surpassed by seaweed; now, seaweed is second to Naruto, although it was still popular.

Teuchi is actually unable to produce enough naruto to satisfy the demand. This is because Naruto Uzumaki is significant to Konoha; regular customers yearn for Naruto whenever there is news of him, and shinobi hope that dining at Ichiraku Ramen would help them succeed on their upcoming mission just as Naruto has in the past.

Teuchi has been serving Naruto ramen ever since the latter was a young boy, back when the majority of the village detested him. Teuchi didn’t care what the other villagers thought of Naruto as he liked making ramen for him and Naruto adored it. Teuchi was shocked to receive an invitation to Naruto’s wedding because their relationship had only ever involved ramen over all of those years.

He determines that the best wedding present would be to give Naruto a year of free ramen. Teuchi eventually realizes how much ramen Naruto can consume and begins to shorten the offer’s duration, but every time he does, he has images of Ichiraku ramen going out of business and his daughter being abandoned on the streets.

Every time he eats a bowl of ramen, he sees images of Naruto grinning. Teuchi decided to provide infinite free ramen to Naruto for the rest of his life. Later, Teuchi is seen using his daughter to promote Ichiraku Ramen at Naruto and Hinata’s wedding.

Teuchi is a cheerful and nice man as he and Ayame, who are frequently seen grinning, have always treated Naruto Uzumaki well and see him as their best client. On special occasions, they have even given him free ramen. He shows that he cares about Naruto by frequently inquiring about him when he hasn’t seen him for a time.

He is a serious businessman, though, and will reprimand his staff when they commit errors like sticking their thumbs in a bowl of ramen. A craftsman’s temperament and stubbornness have also been mentioned in relation to him.

Teuchi wears his chief uniform and has dark gray hair. His skin is light brown and his eyes are always seen close. He also has thin eyebrows and has developed little wrinkles on his face after the Fourth Shinobi War had ended.
