There is not much information about Tomaru's past but he is from Konohagakure and became the well-known actor in the shinobi world.
When Tomaru and his costar Ashina received a death threat letter from an unknown criminal, they went to Hokage to request protection while they shot their show. Team 7 and Team 10 were given the mission to protect them, with Team 10 assigned to protect Tomaru while Team 7 was assigned to protect Ashina.
Chocho, who was a big fan of Tomaru, used her Butterfly Mode Technique to make herself look slim to attract Tomaru towards him. When the kidnapper tried to attack them while Tomaru and Ashina were on set, a supporting actress got injured and Tomaru suggested Chocho be her replacement because he wanted to flirt with her.
There was a kissing scene between Tomaru and Chocho but because Inojin Yamanaka said that it doesn’t look real, the director replaced the scene with another scene. When Tomaru gave Ashina’s dress to Chocho to do the scene but when she was about to kiss him, Mitsuki knocked on the door to call her. Chocho got angry and started fighting with Mitsuki. Shikadai Nara uses his Shadow Paralyse Technique to hold her, but then Chocho used her real form, which ripped her dress off.
When Ashina and Tomaru heard the noise, they came out and then Tomaru saw Chocho in her real form and was unable to identify her. He then told her to give the ring back but when Chocho hesitated, he told her that he is not into chubby girls.
Later, when the kidnapper again came and took Tomaru with him, Konohamaru was able to capture him and turned himself into a kidnapper so he could know who the real culprit was.
When Ashina went to give the ransom to kidnapper (who was actually Konohamaru disguised as the kidnapper) in exchange for Tomaru, she told Tomaru to go back. When Ashina told the kidnapper to go away and he refused, she told him that it was as they planned and then Konohamaru showed himself and asked why she did.
She said that it was because she wanted to gain more popularity by saving Tomaru but when her plan failed, she dropped some explosive tags. This made the area crumble and when one rock was about to fall on Tomaru, Chochco used her expansion fist technique to save him. Ashina was then sent to Konoha jail.
After Tomaru realised that the chubby girl was Chocho, he asked her if she wanna be with him which Chocho refused as she believed he was not a good person.
Tomaru acts as a kind and pure soul, but that is not the case as he judges people by their looks and abilities and because of that he said some harsh words to Chocho. He shows himself as brave but actually, he is a coward. He thought he could get any girl he wished but Chocho rejected him in the end, which made him realize that not all girls will be his fan.
Tomaru is very handsome and attractive. He has brown hair and some of its strands fall onto his face. He wears a blue jumpsuit and a headband.
He is a great actor and can act the whole time, even when not in any film scene.
