Toroi was born and brought up in Kumogakure and became a Genin rank shinobi. When the Chunin exams were held, he and his teammates Yurui and Toroi participated in the exams.
When Boruto Uzumaki's team checked out other teams, they spotted the Toroi team, who were chilled and not nervous about the Chunin exams. Shikamaru Nara introduced himself, told them about the Chunin exams, and instructed that the first round would begin at noon. Till then, the participants could rest or train. Toroi and his teammates went to the Thunder Burger shop to eat burgers, where they spotted Boruto and Sarada Uchiha.
Toroi's team went to Boruto and asked him to go to another table because they were two, while Toroi and his team had three members. Boruto refused and said that his third teammate was coming, but Team Yurui argued that it was his fault for being too slow, which pissed Boruto off and they both started to argue.
When they were about to fight, Mitsuki came and told them that he was Boruto's third teammate and that he could go to another table, but Yurui and Boruto kept staring at each other. When they were about to fight, Shinki came in between and held both of them with his Magnet release (Magnet Style) and told them to stop fighting.
Later during the first test, they had to get from point A to point B in an hour, where they would take the quiz for the first round. On route from point A to B, there were several traps that the instructors placed to eliminate and test the shinobi. Toroi's team was able to reach the B point easily, and on route, they encountered Summoning Puppets, which Tenten used to test them. Toroi did not have to do anything because Yurui was able to use his bubblegum to counter them.
In the quiz round, they had to give a true or false answer by standing on the respective spot, but then both spots had a pit underneath them. Sai said that whoever fell in the Ink pit would be disqualified. Right then, both spots popped out, but Toroi and his teammates were saved by Yurui’s Bubblegum technique to keep himself and his teammates afloat, and they were able to clear the first stage.
In the second stage of the exams, they had to take the other team's flag, and whoever took the opposite team's flag first would be the winner. Toroi's team was against the old Team 15 of Konohagakure, which had Sumire Kakei, Wasabi Izuno, and Namida Suzumeno, led by Hanabi Hyuga. The team of Toroi was easily able to beat them and capture their flag.
In the third round, Toroi had a match against Mitsuki one-on-one. When the match started, Toroi used his Lightning Release: Overdrive to attack Mitsuki and was able to put a scratch on his face but soon Mitsuki was able to trap him in his snake technique to make him give up in the match.
Toroi is full of himself and always tries to insult other people. He has overconfidence in himself, which leads him to lose the match against Mitsuki.
Toroi is a bit chubby and wears round glasses. He wears a Kumogakure shinobi outfit and has a Kumogakure head protector. He also wears gloves on both his hands and wears red rope like a scarf around his neck. He also carries a big shuriken on his back.
Ninjutsu is Toroi's primary ability, and he is highly skilled in manipulating large shuriken using chakra. He can precisely control the trajectory and speed of his shuriken, allowing him to unleash devastating attacks on his opponents. Additionally, Toroi has great physical strength, which gives him an advantage in close combat situations. He can use Lightning Release to become quicker in the close combat fight.
