Naruto season 1-2

He was in the Ebisu team with Konahamaru and Moegi. When he was young, in Naruto seasons 1-2, he always seemed not interested in anyone or anything other than solving Math problems.

His skills are not good as he could not perform Shadow Clone Jutsu, which is a basic Jutsu every Ninja should know. Before graduating, he failed a few times.

Naruto went with Jiraiya Sensei for 2 years for training. The Hidden Sand and Hidden Leaf Villages conducted the Chunin exam. Konohamaru decided he wanted to be in the Chunin exam and convinced Udo and Moegi to enter with them. Shikamaru heard them talking about this and told them that to enter in the chunin exam, one must be a Genin at least, and Udo, Moegi, and Konohamaru are not even graduated as Genin. However, they still tried to sneak into the exam by transforming into adults, and Konohamaru transformed himself into Naruto.

As Neji and Shikamaru knew that Naruto went for training with Lord Jiraya sensei, Neji used Byakugan and found out that the person was not Naruto, and caught Konohamaru.

Udon in Naruto Shippuden

Udon became Genin in Naruto Shippuden, and during that season, he was able to uplift himself. In a few episodes, we saw him fighting alongside Konohamaru, one of the top skilled Genin.

After Naruto defeated Pain and became the Konoha hero, he entered the Chunin exam with Udo, Konohamaru, and Moegi but got disqualified after a fight with Konohamaru.

Udon in Boruto: The Next Generation

Udon in Boruto became captain of Team 5 and completely changed into an amazing ninja in terms of skill, discipline, and looks. Team 5 has Udon Ise as Captain, and the other three members are Metal Lee, who is Lee's son, and Denki Kaminarimon, who is the heir of Kaminarimon Company, which is the leading company in the Land of Fire and controls all the electric systems and the Thunder Rail in the Boruto series. The last member is Iwabee Yuino, who is the repeater.

First Mission

Iwabee Yuino, Denki Kaminarimon, and Metal Lee joined Team 5 under Udon's leadership. Naruto personally assigned the team their first Mission, which was gardening.

Byakuya Gang Mission

Along with other genin teams, Team 5 was tasked with ending the Byakuya Gang. However, without assistance from a chunin or other more senior shinobi, the genin were not allowed to combat the Byakuya Gang.

Iwabee's excessive behavior led Metal and Denki to join their teammate in pursuing the thieves, which led to Metal's injury and hospitalization. Iwabee received a reprimand from Udon for his careless behavior and blatant disdain for the rules. Iwabee should be kept inside his house until further instructions, he decided.

Udon visited the Seventh Hokage's office following the incident with the Byakuya Gang, where Naruto removed Team 5's ban and gave them a task to participate in a documentary.

Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc

In the anime, the village was placed under lockdown following Mitsuki's alleged defection to Konohakagure and subsequent desertion. Later, it was found that Boruto and Sarada had vanished while looking for Mitsuki. Udon informed the Seventh Hokage about it.

During the lockdown, Udon and his squad came upon a panicked Yurito while on patrol. He said someone had attacked a recovering guard and was hurrying to get treatment.

Still, Udon saw through the story since Yurito, who was in charge of the Medical Security, would have dispatched someone else to report such an incident.

When Yurito realized he had been exposed, he kidnapped Denki, but the genin escaped with a flash bomb. Udon became aware that he was under genjutsu while the team's genin sought to subdue Yurito.

He then started freeing him. A C1 Explosive Clay detonated from the man's flak jacket just as he started to realize what was happening, badly wounding Yurito.

Time Slip Arc

Sasuke and Boruto traveled into the past with Urashiki Otsutsuki and arrived in the timeline soon after the young Sasuke left Konohagakure. The Konohamaru Army Corps watched from the bushes as Boruto, past Naruto, and Jiraiya engaged in combat with Urashiki.

They were astounded when Naruto used his Rasengan to dispatch the opponent. However, as the adversary changed into a monstrously strong entity, Udon and his comrades decided to seek assistance. The higher-ups ignored them, but they managed to track down several of Naruto's buddies, who readily consented to assist.

However, Urashiki had already lost when they arrived. The trio then drove their injured pals to the medical facility. Days later, once Sasuke and Boruto had recovered, they were getting ready to return to their time.

Sasuke first used his Sharingan to safeguard the timeline by wiping the memories of everyone he and Boruto had come into touch with of the previous occurrences.

In his childhood, he used to be quiet and think of himself as a loser, which led him to fail to take an interest in anything. Still, because of Konohamaru's energetic personality, he had to push himself to do things he didn’t want to do. The only thing which made him happy or caught his interest was solving Math Problems, which he used to do in his free time.

Though he also wanted to become a good Shinobi with minimum physical work, after seeing Naruto become a hero, and Konohamaru doing well against Pain, and seeing Naruto in the Chunin exam, he also wanted to follow Naruto’s path.

As an adult in Boruto, Udon became a teacher and Sensei of Team 5. He changed a lot; now, he is very calm, composed, collective, and strict toward his students and team. His students and his team members found him cool, and even Naruto, as Hokage, praised him many times and trusted him as a teacher and Captain.

Udon, during his childhood, had a snort hanging in his right nostril, and he used to wear round specs, had light brown hair, and on the forehead, he wore goggles which is the mark of the Konohamaru squad.

He used to wear a blue zip jacket and brown pants with Shinobi sandals, but in Naruto Shippuden, he got taller and had a Genin headband, which he wore on his forehead. His jacket color changed from blue to a green zip jacket.

In Boruto, he completely changed from the weird-looking guy with a hanging snort to a tall, handsome, and strong-looking man.

He mostly wears a long shirt, and above that, he wears a guard and brown pants with Shinobi sandals and a knife pocket holding around his legs.

Udon Ise showed no ninja skills when he was in the Academy, which led him to fail many times because he was not even able to make a shadow clone of himself. He used to think he was just a loser and a burden on the Konohamaru team. His only good skills in childhood were solving math problems and just being able to use the Bouncy Bouncy Technique, which is not a skillful technique as such.

After he saw Naruto and Konohamaru working so hard even when they were not strong and still not giving up, he was inspired by them and then started training. In Boruto, he is a teacher and a team captain who is reliable and strong.

Water Tendrils (Nose Water Tree Jutsu)

Udon Ise always had lots of mucus in his body, and with that help, he created a new Jutsu which is the Nose Water Tree Jutsu. Only he could use this Jutsu. He uses the mucus and water together and expands it with his will. It can be sharp or take the shape of a pointed tree, which can pierce through many tough objects.

Genjutsu Release

Udon Ise is skillful and intelligent, as he can sense or know if he or anyone else is under Genjutsu, and quickly release them.
