Donquixote Rosinante in One Piece

Donquixote Rosinante, better known as “Corazon,” was originally a World Noble descended from the Donquixote Family, being the younger brother of Donquixote Doflamingo and the second son of Donquixote Homing. When Rosinante was 6 years old, their father abandoned Mary Geoise so that he may live a regular life among the ordinary people, and the brothers lost their position as World Nobles.

After his family's status as Celestial Dragons was forfeited, Rosinante joined the Donquixote Pirates as an Elite Officer and began operating under the alias Corazon while serving Doflamingo. However, he was a Marine Commander working undercover to stop Doflamingo. He was exposed by the previous Corazon, Vergo, and killed 13 years ago by Doflamingo.

Rosinante, who brought the youngster away from the Donquixote Pirates while looking for treatment for his Amber Lead Disease, was Trafalgar Law's benefactor. By making Law consume the Ope Ope no Mi under his control, he acquired it and gave him the means to fight the illness.

Rosinante’s Personality

Rosinante is quirky, spirited, dramatic, and silly. He was initially known for his hatred of children when Law first met him. Baby 5 and Buffalo were known for playing practical jokes on Rosinante, such as making him trip in the doorway or giving him scorching tea that burned his tongue, which led to his aggressive behavior towards them.

In truth, Rosinante grabbed Law and threw him out the window as the first thing. Nevertheless, this was all part of a plan because it was his responsibility as a Marine to prevent kids from joining the crew—something he failed to do with Baby 5, Buffalo, Dellinger, and Law.

He mourned when his sibling was hit with an arrow and wept at the loss of his mother, showing how much he cared for his biological family. He lacked the manners of a typical Celestial Dragon due to his generosity, and he felt it was his responsibility to put an end to his brother's craziness. This sense of duty inspired him to enlist in the Marines as an undercover spy. Because of this, Rosinante was depicted as being forgiving because he did not harbor resentment towards Law for stabbing him in the back and even chose to remain silent about it.

Doflamingo himself admits that despite the appearance of a violent man who despises children, his elder brother actually inherited his father's kindness. Doflamingo believes that his elder brother is a monster born evil who only acted cruelly towards children in order to prevent them from following Doflamingo.

He showed his compassion by going above and beyond to take Law throughout the North Blue to find a doctor who could cure his illness, along with the help of his brother and the Marines. Despite his severe tactics, he appears to uphold his own ideals rather than the Marines' philosophy of Absolute Justice because of his courage and sensitivity.

Diamante claimed that Rosinante was dumb and unable to concentrate, and that he was believed to be incapable of speaking as a result of a previous injury. He was absolutely intelligent and totally capable of conversing, however this was just a front.

While his mutism and distaste for kids were merely masks for his true nature, his clumsiness—which caused him to frequently trip over himself and fall for Baby 5 and Buffalo's jokes—was a genuine trait. He was also observed smoking, but because of his clumsiness, each time he attempted to light a cigarette, he unintentionally set his own cowl on fire.

Rosinante’s Appearance

Rosinante stood tall, and was around the same height as Doflamingo, his older brother. He had reddish-brown eyes, golden-blonde hair, and pale skin (which in the manga was tanner).

He was depicted as donning a dark red hood from which two heart-shaped forms hung, a pair of beige slacks (white in the anime), a dark purple feather mantle similar to his brother's, and a white shirt covered in pink hearts. He also sports an odd pair of sneakers. Compared to his sibling, he had longer hair that almost reached his eyes. Rosinante covered his mouth and eyes with makeup or tattoos. He was also seen with sunglasses on.

Rosinante's hair was unkempt and covered his eyes when he was a child. He got his hair styled like his more senior companions before leaving Mary Geoise, and he was wearing customary Celestial Dragon attire. His haircut altered when he left, and his wardrobe was made up of plain yet elegant clothing, along with a frilled cravat that had become ragged from the uncomfortable lifestyle he had to live.

His body was covered in wounds and stitches from conflicts and torture at the hands of the people who detested the Celestial Dragons. Rosinante didn't have the makeup or tattoos he wore when working as a spy when he joined the Marines; instead, he wore the typical cadet uniform.

Rosinante’s Relationships

Parents

Rosinante loved his parents very much. Even after abandoning Mary Geoise and living as a commoner, he never blamed his parents for the kind of life he had to endure because of his father’s decision. He wept as Doflamingo shot Homing in the back of the head, in contrast to Doflamingo, who blamed his father for the loss of his mother.

Doflamingo

Rosinante, meanwhile, had an entirely different perspective on his older brother, referring to him as a "monster" and "not human" and expressing doubt that his parents could have given birth to someone like him. Doflamingo was allegedly born evil and only the other Elite Officers and Rosinante are aware of his true nature.

Crew

Rosinante had little issue concealing his actual identity from the Donquixote Pirates since he did not regard them as allies. They fiercely attacked him after learning about his treason and acting mute. In the end, none of them cared that he had been murdered by his own brother. But because he couldn't reveal his true identity by talking to the crew's kids, he worried for them and even beat them in an attempt to scare them away.

Law

Initially, Rosinante didn’t much bother about where Law came from or who is. Upon learning Law’s true name and past, Rosinante went out of his way to protect the kid from Doflamingo. He forcefully kidnapped Law in order to find a cure for the latter’s disease, and if the doctors resented, he would rampage around the hospital.

When he learned about the Ope Ope no Mi’s whereabouts, he acquired the Devil Fruit and forcefully fed Law to ensure that one day the boy might learn its abilities and would be saved. Because of this, Law abandoned the Donquixote Pirates when Doflamingo killed Rosinante and vowed to exact revenge at all costs. Law made the decision to carry out Rosinante's act since he believed Rosinante was too gentle to shoot Doflamingo.

Sengoku

Rosinante encountered Sengoku after his father passed away, and he enlisted him in the Marines. Sengoku appears to have put a lot of faith in Rosinante to keep an eye on the Donquixote Pirates' operations in the underworld and discourage kids from joining in order to keep their numbers from growing. Sengoku considered Rosinante to be a son and was shocked to learn of his passing.

Rosinante’s Abilities

Rosinante was a formidable fighter. In addition to the other executive officers, he was directly beneath Doflamingo in command of the crew's numerous other officers and men. He was in charge of all lower-ranking Marines as a commander, but since he was also a double spy who answered to an admiral, he might have had more power.

Rosinante was regarded as being extremely awkward, stupid, and unable to focus. As with his mutism, it was an act that showed his capacity for deception, as Rosinante was actually intelligent enough to trick his crew into believing he was someone else while actually using his Devil Fruit abilities to spy on them. He was also aware that anyone beginning with the letter D should avoid being near Doflamingo. He was nevertheless demonstrated to be clumsy because that is just who he is.

He often carried a gun and explosives which was shown when he went to retrieve the Ope Ope no Mi for Law.

Physical Strength

Due to his amazing endurance and toughness, Rosinante was able to survive torture from angry bystanders even as a young child. He even sat motionless for a while after Law stabbed him deeply in the back. Rosinante, in his customary clumsiness, fell and lit himself on fire, but he showed great pain tolerance and was not even the slightest bit phased by the injury. Even after being shot numerous times, he was able to move and sneak away with Law. He had great physical strength and speed.

Devil Fruit

Rosinante consumed the Nagi Nagi no Mi, a Devil Fruit of the Paramecia type that gave him the ability to silence voices. This ability provided him with a multitude of benefits despite not having any direct combat benefits.

It was extremely helpful for his role as an undercover Marine informant since he could execute covert operations without making a sound, report the progress of his operation, and hold private discussions without worrying about being overheard. He could also use his power to aid in his sleep and trick people into thinking he was mute.

He could create an invisible soundproof shield around himself and other people. The sounds coming from beyond this field's boundary could not be heard by anyone inside, and vice versa. In addition, he had the power to silence any sounds around him, which let him commit actions like firing cannons and setting off explosions without drawing notice.

Other noticeable effects of his actions, such as the shockwave from an explosion or the light from fires, could still be sensed normally, even though the sounds of those actions were canceled out. Rosinante could also use the quiet to confuse his enemies because they would be accustomed to hearing all that is going on and would be confused by the lack of sound.
