Gran Tesoro in One Piece

Gran Tesoro is regarded as the most prominent entertainment city in the world. It is a vast, golden city that floats on the water. It is renowned for its opulent lifestyle and is regarded as a gathering place for the richest people in the world. Gild Tesoro, a powerful and wealthy man able to manage gold thanks to a devil fruit power, was in charge of running the city.

Due to Tesoro's wealth, the World Government recognizes it as an independent state and categorizes it as a demilitarized zone. The phrase "moving country of dreams" is used to describe it. The nation must yet continue to make a Heavenly Tribute associated with the World Government.

Gild Tesoro had previously been in charge, but after he was overthrown and most of the population fled, Carina took over control of the ship.

Note: This location majorly debuted in the One Piece Film: Gold.

History of Gran Tesoro

Four years before the commencement of the series, Gild Tesoro built the Gran Tesoro after his unlawful ventures were successful. It was acknowledged by the World Government as an independent country. It had 20% of the total amount of money in circulation worldwide. People from around the world traveled there to gamble, but everyone who went broke had to labor to pay off their debts, including the Long Long Pirates.

While Tesoro and Carina were showing a concert, the Straw Hat Pirates boarded the Gran Tesoro. The Long Long Pirates attacked them to recoup their debt by stealing their assets. Nevertheless, the Long Long Pirates were defeated, and Tesoro covered them all in gold.

The Straw Hats received a complimentary stay at the entertainment city, but Baccarat eventually caused them to lose all of their money in a match with Tesoro himself. Baccarat's meddling caused the Straw Hats to rebel, but Tesoro had Roronoa Zoro under custody and had issued a death threat if the Straw Hats did not settle their debt. Tesoro informed all of Gran Tesoro's residents of Zoro's impending execution.

To pay off their debt, the Straw Hats collaborated with Carina, who served as a double agent. As she pretended to be working for Tesoro and luring them into a trap, she was hatching a scheme to free everyone in Gran Tesoro from Tesoro's tyranny and overthrow Tesoro, something Luffy was clueless of.

To carry out their scheme, the Straw Hats broke inside the hotel. They carried out their plan by letting Tesoro capture them. As Tesoro started his show, Luffy and Franky were able to make water spray from every gold fountain in Gran Tesoro. The Straw Hats and everyone were set free due to the removal of the gold dust that gave Tesoro authority over everyone. As a result, Tesoro and his crew were getting ready to confront the rebels when he blew up the hotel in a fit of wrath.

Tesoro assaulted Gran Tesoro, intending to kill Carina and the Straw Hats. He provided his executive crew members with golden armor and weaponry, and he did it while riding a massive gold golem. On the other hand, Gran Tesoro's inhabitants and inmates formed an alliance with the Straw Hats. They revolted against the ship's crew, prompting a Marine fleet to attack the Gran Tesoro.

After defeating Tesoro's executive crew members, Luffy took control of the situation. Tesoro then blew up his golem and doused everyone on Gran Tesoro in liquid gold to drown the entire island in gold. He was ultimately overpowered by Luffy, who then set everyone free.

When Tesoro was defeated, a timer unexpectedly began to clock down. Carina predicted that the ship would blow up when it reached zero. When she sailed the city away from everyone else, nothing happened when the time ran out. In fact, Carina used the Gran Tesoro as a pawn in a scheme to steal it, and she sailed away, taking control over it.

Architecture of Gran Tesoro

The Gran Tesoro is primarily made of gold, and its bow has a cruise ship-like appearance but with much larger dimensions. A city is built inside the 10-kilometer-long ship with no roof over it.

In the far back of the ship is a massive green area. The stern is giant and circular, with a vast golden tower in the center that resembles a roulette wheel and is designed to look like a card table. Other ships can enter the Gran Tesoro through the front of the vessel. When entering the ship, one can see its name and two pirate flags. It appears to be pulled by two enormous sea turtles armed with cannons.

Navigating to Gran Tesoro

Gild Tesoro's Vivre Card, which Tesoro himself views as a personal invitation, is one means of getting on the ship. The invitation is dispatched in a sealed envelope with the Gran Tesoro logo on it. Tanaka mailed one invitation to Mad Treasure so that he may receive the Pure Gold from the treasure seeker. Nami later took the envelope and used the Vivre Card to direct the Straw Hat Pirates to the casino.
