Island of Rare Animals in One Piece

This is an underdeveloped island that is surrounded by overgrown forests. The landmark of this island is a tall, sheer butte topped with five empty treasure chests. The island got its name because of its distinctive wildlife which is the blend of two or more animal traits. These creatures are docile and are always a target for poachers.

An unknown crew had left a number of empty treasure chests on this island a long time ago. Two years after Gol D. Roger's execution, some pirates had come to the island to find the treasure but were only able to find one empty chest. Gaimon was able to find five chests and when he was trying to find the sixth one, he lost his grip and fell into a discarded chest beneath the cliff and permanently trapped himself inside. As he wasn't able to stop his ship from sailing away, Gaimon was left alone on the island. Even though he couldn't climb, he never gave up looking for the last treasure chest. He became the guardian of the island and scared off anyone who tried to step on the island. He even befriended the Animals of the island.

When the Straw Hats arrived on this island, they met Gaimon. After they heard his story, Luffy volunteered to climb the cliff and retrieve the chests for him. Gaimon was in tears but refused to be in despair and pledged that he would spend the rest of his days protecting the animals of the island from poachers. After the timeskip, a new human came to the island known as Sarfunkle, the barrel- woman.

Gaimon

Gaimon was a pirate who was in search of the treasure chests, but fell off a cliff, permanently trapping himself in a chest. He was left by his ship on the island.

The other people that live on the Island of Rare Animals are Sarfunkle, Cocox, Usagihebi, Lionbuta, Kirinkodanuki, Duck-Poodle, Bear-Tiger, Kabagorilla, Kamonohitsuji, Saikangaroo, Zebra- Ostrich, Panda- Bat, Tiger- Elephant, Cow- Tortoise. There are more different animal hybrids too on this island.
