History

Past

Dellinger, was abandoned at birth, was discovered by the family, and was reared by Giolla, is a member of the Donquixote Pirates. He was born of a human and a fighting fish fish-man. The crew used to be stationed in Spider Miles, a port town in the North Blue. Following Law's arrival, the team was having dinner together when Dellinger was spotted sipping milk from a bottle while perched on Giolla's lap.

Dellinger put up his hands and began weeping as Doflamingo slapped his fist on the table in rage after Giolla falsely claimed that Law's illness was infectious. Dellinger accompanied Law and the crew when they were formally accepted into the group and travelled to the Grand Line to further their influence.

He took part in Dressrosa's conquest by Doflamingo. Monet and the other senior Donquixote Pirates stormed the royal palace once he had unlocked the gates.

Dressrosa Arc

Dellinger appeared as a representative of the Donquixote Pirates in the Mera Mera no Mi tournament at the Corrida Colosseum. Later, as Bellamy was preparing to assassinate Luffy in order to be accepted as an officer of the Donquixote Pirates, Dellinger approached him and asked him if he had finished with the assassination. In response to this, Bellamy asked Dellinger what he wanted from him.

Dellinger then revealed that he was there under Doflamingo's orders to kill Bellamy, saying that Doflamingo had no confidence in him and considered him an eyesore. Bellamy responded by angrily questioning Dellinger's previous statement. Bellamy was gravely injured by Dellinger, but Bartolomeo intervened and used his barrier to shield Bellamy from his deadly blow.

Meanwhile, Dellinger was ordered to defend the SMILE Factory with Lao G by Diamante through Den Den Mushi. Dellinger was incensed at Bartolomeo's meddling, and as he stormed off, he vowed that neither Bartolomeo nor Bellamy would let Dressrosa survive. Later on, Dellinger was spotted in the toy house, where he was standing over a battered Franky with Machvise and Senor Pink.

Dellinger got alarmed as Sugar lost consciousness and her abilities unraveled, causing all the toys in Dressrosa to revert to their former shapes.

Franky vanished from the Toy House when Doflamingo imprisoned Dressrosa in his Bird Cage and placed a bounty on the heads of twelve individuals, including Franky. Dellinger, Senor Pink, and Machvise saw this.

They were shocked that even after the truth about Doflamingo was revealed, the Marines were doing little to stop the Donquixote Pirates. Then they witnessed Law, Zoro, and Luffy fall out of the sky and land just in front of them. Without any delay, the three officers initiated a fight with Law and the two Straw Hats.

Zoro gave Dellinger a backward kick as he tried to tackle Luffy. He unintentionally kicked Machvise as a result. The conflict was broken up by the appearance of Issho and Pica, a huge stone monster. Later, he was spotted with Gladius, Machvise, Baby 5, and Lao G defending the palace on the second floor of the rebuilt King's Plateau.

As Luffy and his companions effortlessly navigated past Doflamingo's soldiers, Dellinger started to question why Issho and his Marine unit weren't getting involved.

Through her binoculars, Baby 5 told him that Sabo was impeding the Marines. Dellinger went at Blue Gilly, kicking him in the face after Blue Gilly prevented some of the Donquixote Pirates' men from attacking Luffy and Cavendish. Dellinger later confronted Ideo directly. Ideo tried to strike with a powerful blow, but Dellinger deftly sidestepped it. Ideo was able to attack him when Pica's alteration of the plateau's contour diverted his attention. But the cut was only superficial, and later on Dellinger pierced Ideo's stomach.

Dellinger assessed the situation on the third floor, believing that Ideo had fallen, and Gladius begged him to help. Ideo caught him before he could go off the second level. Dellinger commented on how unyielding Ideo was, so he removed his hat to display his horns and his fighting fish teeth. With them, he launched a decisive attack that ultimately defeated Ideo.

He moved to the third level to support Gladius in the fight against Cavendish and Bartolomeo once his opponent was defeated. Staying as happy as ever, he asked Gladius why he had taken so long to get to the combat. He said the two of them would be unstoppable when together. Then, what appeared to be a wind blow caught Dellinger off guard, and he was soon hacked to death by Cavendish's sword.

Then it was shown that Cavendish changed into Hakuba. Later, his unconscious corpse was taken to the palace with Sugar, Lao G, and the fallen Machvise. Giolla planned to bring him and the others back to life using Mansherry's healing abilities. But Giolla's scheme was foiled.

But Giolla's scheme was foiled when Leo and Kabu showed up, vanquishing Giolla and rescuing Mansherry. Dellinger and his fellow officers were taken into custody by the Marines following Doflamingo's defeat.

Personality

Dellinger's quirky sense of style is complemented by his showy and colorful attitude. He informs Bellamy that he is going to murder him immediately after degrading him, giving off the impression of being quite conceited and self-assured. He appears to have a penchant for divulging to people things he knows, even sensitive information like Doflamingo's command for him to get rid of Bellamy, which makes him a little too careless.

Dellinger is proud of his own fighting fish lineage and he takes great delight in it. He may be quite vicious and nasty in combat, especially when facing Suleiman. Dellinger, who makes fun of Ideo for having such lofty goals, likewise thinks that strong individuals don't need honor. Having said that, he lacks confidence and, as a result, doesn't take many things seriously. This causes Cavendish in his Hakuba form to easily defeat him when Gladius warns him to back off, but he doesn't heed his advice.

It is also evident that he becomes easily irritated when someone else obstructs his path of destruction. He is furious at Bartolomeo for keeping Bellamy safe and threatens to exact revenge. He declares that this is his "family's business" and has a close relationship with his team, whom he views as his family.

When a sleepwalking Cavendish slashed Dellinger in the anime, he was shown to be clearly alarmed at seeing his own blood, which might mean he had never been hurt before or had encountered someone faster than him.

Appearance

Dellinger is a teen who is very tiny and slender, with shoulder-length blonde hair that is scruffy and an overall feminine look. He wears blue shorts, dark purple stilettos, a long-sleeved shirt with a giraffe-like design on it, a white baseball cap with horns emerging from it on his head, and blue shorts with a dark purple mark on the middle of his hat.

While his eyes appear innocent while not fighting, they become wide and crimson when he becomes bloodthirsty, like the eyes of the Lord of the Coast, the fighting fish, and Arlong when he becomes enraged. He has horns emerging from his head and a fighting fish dorsal fin on his back, traits that come from his fish-man ancestry.

Given that Dellinger was able to conceal it until he attacked Blue Gilly, it appears that this fin may retract. In addition, he may grow out his retractable, sharp teeth by pushing his human teeth through their gums. Dellinger had an even smaller version of his hat when he was a child, not quite a year old, with little horns coming through and a small fish painted on it.

His already-noticeable fish-man dorsal fin protruded through his regular infant clothing. The only part of his clothing with giraffe-like markings was the lower half, and he was six years old and wearing a rucksack. His hat had a mark on it that resembled a regular blackfish.

Dellinger’s abilities, strengths, and fighting style

In addition to being in charge of 2000 men, Dellinger was an officer of the Donquixote Pirates and had responsibility for the crew's lower-ranking members. Because of his fish-man ancestry, Dellinger possesses enough strength to regularly compete in the high-level fighting competitions held in the Corrida Colosseum. Dellinger and the other three Diamante Army commanders are supposed to have a 100% chance of winning when they enter the competition.

The fact that Dellinger remained a member of Doflamingo's crew for the whole 16 years of his life, beginning in infancy, is arguably the greatest testament to his considerable combat skills. Diamante claims that only the strongest 100 applicants remained in the crew after just two days. As the youngest crew member, he helped take over Dressrosa at the age of six.

Doflamingo gives him the duty of murdering Bellamy, an elderly pirate with 195,000,000 berries, as evidence of his power. This belief proved to be true as Dellinger defeated Bellamy with ease and almost killed him. Later on, he defeated Dagama, Ideo, Blue Gilly, and Suleiman with ease. Even though he was a strong member of the gang, Cavendish in his Hakuba form easily beat him in a single blow.

Dellinger, a mix of a Fishman and a human, was physically stronger from birth than the typical human, as evidenced by his effortless ability to carry cannonballs at the age of two. He possesses extraordinary superhuman leg strength, as seen by the force of his kicks, which can effortlessly move a ten-ton Machvise and instantly take down martial artist Blue Gilly without giving him a chance to defend himself.

Having a pair of horns, he can use them to gore his enemies with spear-like headbutts; he is skilled at this technique, however, it can still render him immobile if he gets stuck and refuses to release his grip. Like Arlong, he also appears to be able to sprout new teeth whenever he pleases and to be able to alternate between human teeth and razor-sharp fighting fish fangs at whim.

Dellinger also possesses incredible superhuman speed, as seen by his ability to move quickly enough to deftly avoid Ideo's blows and produce many temporary clones to surprise unprepared enemies.
