Ten years ago, Mjosgard lost his fish-man slaves when Jinbe joined the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Angry because he had spent much money on them, Mjosgard went to Fish-Man Island to get them back. Unfortunately, his ship was attacked, and he ended up as the only survivor, badly hurt.
Mjosgard, wounded and in need of help, was surrounded by his angry former slaves. They wanted to keep their plan to kill him a secret. However, Queen Otohime stepped in, saving Mjosgard's life. Despite this, he still tried to shoot her, but Shirahoshi's cry brought Sea Kings, scaring Mjosgard unconscious.
After weeks of getting better, Mjosgard sailed back to Mary Geoise, still ungrateful and vengeful. Otohime insisted on going with him to meet the World Nobles. During this trip, something changed in Mjosgard. He started respecting the queen and her people and even got the World Nobles' approval for human and fish-man coexistence, thanks to Otohime's efforts to bring peace between them.
On Whole Cake Island, during the Levely, Mjosgard protected Shirahoshi when Charlos tried to take her forcefully. He knocked Charlos out with a club, apologized for his actions, and promised to help Fish-Man Island.
Later, when Charlos tried to enslave Shirahoshi again, Mjosgard allowed two guys, Sai and Leo, to attack Charlos. But when Charlos ordered Kuma to kill Mjosgard, Sai, and Leo stepped in, and the incident was reported as an assassination attempt.
Ultimately, Mjosgard's actions led to his being judged by God's knights. They decided he collaborated too much and attacked a fellow World Noble. As punishment, Mjosgard was executed by Figarland Garling, the head of God's Knights, during the Wano Country Arc.
Ten years ago, Mjosgard acted like most other World Nobles, thinking he was better than everyone else, especially non-humans like fish-men and merfolk. He wanted his freed fish-man slaves back, ignoring the rules that set them free. Even when he faced danger and got hurt, he still expected them to help him.
However, when he realized his former slaves could harm him without consequences, he got scared but stayed stubborn and mean. Otohime saved his life and changed his attitude. He stopped owning slaves, felt disgusted by his past behavior, and disliked other World Nobles who acted like he used to.
When Otohime's family was in trouble, Mjosgard surprised everyone by standing up for them. He even fought to protect them, even though it could mean big trouble for him. He changed his ways and tried to keep the law to shield his merfolk friends, showing a new sense of responsibility and caring.
Mjosgard looked like most other World Nobles with his dark green hair tied up. His face was wide, and he had a big, round nose, sometimes with snot hanging out. Thick lips and small eyes completed his look. He always wore a thick white suit with medals and a bubble when he went out.
When he came to Fish-Man Island, he was seen all bloody and hurt from his journey. Later, during the Levely Arc, he still had the same style but looked a bit slimmer. His hair seemed sharper, and he had some facial hair. His eyes appeared darker. Instead of the usual suit, he wore a light purple shirt under a protective suit.
Donquixote Mjosgard's relationship with the Fish-Men Slaves was marked by a sense of ownership, treating them as his property. When they rebelled, he sought revenge, reflecting a harsh and domineering attitude. After being saved by Otohime from other fish-men and then spending time with her, his thinking changes for them, and he starts respecting them.
Initially, Mjosgard displayed ingratitude and even attempted to harm Queen Otohime. However, Otohime's actions later influenced a shift in his outlook. In the case of Shirahoshi, Mjosgard's attempt to harm her mother was thwarted by the Sea Kings summoned by Shirahoshi's cry.
Later, his heart changed, and he gave respect to her family, which was clearly seen when he saved Shirahoshi from Charlos during the Wano Arc. He even apologized for the royal behavior and promised to protect them at any cost.
Mjosgard hated Charlos and hit him when he was trying to capture Shirahoshi to make her a pet for him. He did not hate him because he had the same attitude before, but after meeting Otohime, his way of thinking changed.
His name comes from Norse mythology: Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) and Asgard (one of the realms).
Mjosgard was the second member of the Donquixote Family to say he was a human. The first was Donquixote Homing.
