Strengths

The main strength of this Devil Fruit is the ability to shift into a gas-like shape, which allows the user to float, fly, and travel inside places that regular creatures cannot, as Caesar Clown was seen hiding within some flasks when he was notified that the marines were nearby. He may, however, become solid enough to hold objects, such as his martini glass.

According to Brownbeard, he claimed to be the one who cleansed the entire island of poisonous and nerve gasses. This, however, is eventually shown to be a ruse, with the deadly gasses being employed to give birth to Smiley.

The gas Caesar emits is extremely poisonous. When set alight, the gas looks to be explosive, which allows him to make controlled explosions without injuring himself. In battle, Caesar emits poisonous gasses that appear to kill an ordinary victim instantly, ignitable gasses with great explosive strength, or hallucinogenic chemicals that compel foes to fight each other inadvertently. He can also absorb and take oxygen from his surroundings, reducing his vulnerability to fire, and force his opponents into unconsciousness or even death through asphyxiation. In desperation, he absorbed Shinokuni’s H2S gas into his own body to expand his own size and strength.

The Straw Hat Pirates compelled Caesar to change his own body into a hot air balloon strong enough to lift a basket packed with five people, against his better judgment and will. Caesar can also emit a gas that causes hallucinations in individuals who inhale it. As a result of the hallucinations they were experiencing, both Katakuri and Oven became victims of this ability and began battling one another.

There are different types of techniques demonstrated by Caesar, such as:

Gas Robe

Caesar creates a cloud of toxic gas and directs it as his enemy. He claims to have conducted numerous experiments with the gas, to the point where he is positive that inhaling it will result in death.

Gastanet

Caesar fills two castanets with unstable gas and slams them together, resulting in a tremendous gas explosion. Despite its magnitude, the attack has no effect on Caesar himself.

Karakuni

Caesar depletes all oxygen in the space surrounding him, asphyxiating everyone within range and neutralizing his vulnerability to fire. The technique is one of Caesar’s most dangerous, as it was capable of swiftly defeating multiple powerful fighters, including a fellow Logia user, in a few moments without touching them, and none of them were able to resist in any way.

Nenshou Kei: Miok Gas

Caesar concentrates flammable gas in a certain area and then tosses lighted matches at it, igniting the gas and creating a tremendous ball of fire that incinerates anyone inside.

Blue Sword

Caesar concentrates oxygen on a particular weapon (the oxygen taken by Karakuni can be used for this). This is a bladeless sword that also functions as a lighter. By lighting the lighter, Caesar generates an oxidizing flame blade that he may use to slice and burn his opponents at the same time. The blue blade is so hot that even a slash sets fire to everything in its path, while not even making contact with the weapon.

Gastille
