Gonbe in One Piece

Gonbe, who is actually a rabbit. He is generally referred to as Chimney's pet cat. He was introduced in the 229th episode of the anime during the Water 7 Arc.

History

Water 7 Arc

When Chimney's grandmother saw Aqua Laguna approaching, Chimney, her grandmother and Gonbe went to Water 7. They then, when Franky went to Blueno's bar to get more cola.

Enies Lobby Arc

Gonbe and Chimney smuggle themselves onto the Sea Train, Rocketman. They go to Enies Lobby with the Franky Family, the Straw Hats, and the foremen of Galley-La Company. Later, we see Rob Lucci, Nico Robin, and Spandam find a hidden passageway. After guiding Luffy to the corridor's entrance, Gonbe and Chimney watch him use Gear Third to smash through the iron door.

Rob Lucci knew that she and Gonbe were pursuing them, but he opted not to take action since he wasn't given an order. Chimney and Gonbe flee through the hidden tunnel with Kokoro and the other Straw Hats as Luffy fights Lucci. Kokoro transforms into a mermaid and leads the group through the tunnel and out into the sea, landing on a government ship that Franky and Robin took.

While the other Straw Hats fight the Marines in battle, Chimney, Gonbe, and Kokoro keep an eye on Chopper. The Marines order an attack on the ship by their warships after knowing that the pirates are using it as a means of escape.

Fortunately, Sanji rescues Chopper, Gonbe, Kokoro, and Chimney from the ship just in time. The Going Merry is visible to the Marines once they have the group surrounded. They dive into the water and manage to get out of Enies Lobby. Once they have sailed far from Enies Lobby, Iceburg, and the Galley-La employees found by the group. Later on, Gonbe and the others attend the Going Merry's Viking funeral.

After that, Gonbe and the group head back to Water 7 and hang out at the Galley-la Company headquarters with the Straw Hats. Vice Admiral Garp surprises Chimney and Gonbe by revealing that he is Luffy's grandfather when he pays Luffy a visit.

Gonbe then goes to the big Straw Hats party. After the construction of the Thousand Sunny is done by Franky, Iceburg, and the Galley-La foremen, Chimney, Gonbe, and Kokoro see the Straw Hat Pirates starting of on their next journey.

Where are they now Arc

In this arc, at the Sea Train station, Chimney, Gonbe, and Kokoro are seen having fun with Yokozuna.

Two Years Later Arc

After the time skip, Gonbe stays with Chimney. Chimney took on the role of Shift Station's Sunday stationmaster.

From the Decks of the World: the 500,000,000 Man Arc

Following the public release of Franky's latest wanted poster, Gonbe was spotted smiling as Iceburg and his friends looked at Farnky’s image.

Personality

Gonbe never leaves Chimney's side; he follows her everywhere and frequently mimics her behavior. He is rarely seen to be smiling. He even pretends to be a cat and makes the sound of one.

Appearance

Gonbe thinks he is a cat, despite having a rabbit's body, with long ears and a cotton tail. His face and front are cream-colored, and his overall color is light blue.

He wears a broad smile all the time, just like his master. Gonbe seems to have grown somewhat larger and more looks like an ordinary rabbit after the timeskip.
