Heat, originally from the South Blue, was a gang boss on an island independent of the World Government. Alongside Eustass Kid, Killer, and Wire, each leading a gang in one of the island's towns, they united after Kid's crush Victoria was killed by a rival gang.
To avenge her death, Kid brought the gangs together, defeated the rival gang, and decided to form a pirate crew. They named their ship Victoria Punk in honor of Victoria.
At Sabaody Archipelago, the Kid Pirates attended an auction where a World Noble bought a mermaid. Witnessing the injustice, Eustass Kid decided to leave. When Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro crashed in, chaos ensued. Luffy punched the World Noble, surprising Heat and the crowd.
As Marines closed in, Silvers Rayleigh used Haoshoku Haki to knock out the crowd, but Heat and the pirates resisted. Kid, Luffy, and Law fought the Marines, and the Kid Pirates joined their captain in escaping, destroying a bridge to prevent pursuit. They encountered a Pacifista but were aided by the Heart Pirates in the battle.
The Kid Pirates escaped the Pacifista and went back to Sabaody Archipelago. They witnessed the live broadcast of Portgas D. Ace's execution and the ensuing Summit War of Marineford. When the transmission was cut off by the Marines, Kid decided it was time to leave, informing his crew of their departure.
The Kid Pirates sailed to Marineford on the Victoria Punk and witnessed Red-Haired Shanks concluding the war. In the New World, they captured a group of pirates attempting to escape back to Paradise after docking on an island.
Heat and his crew celebrated allying with the Hawkins Pirates and On Air Pirates. During the party, Kaido crash-landed on their island after jumping from a sky island, causing Heat and others to be blown back by the impact.
After clashing with Kaido, the Kid Pirates were captured and split up. Before the Fire Festival, they regrouped. On the festival day, they joined the Straw Hat Pirates and Heart Pirates in battling the Beasts Pirates. Shocked by the news of Kaido allying with Big Mom, they attacked a Beasts Pirates ship.
When the Straw Hats took the port on Onigashima, the Kid Pirates pledged to defeat Kaido. Disguised as Beasts Pirates, they disembarked on Onigashima, preceding the Straw Hats. Inside, they got caught up in the chaos caused by Luffy and Zoro, leading to separation from Kid and Killer.
While fighting Beasts Pirates, Heat and Wire heard Sanji's distress call broadcast across Onigashima, with Heat expressing disdain.
Heat, terrified after seeing Shanks defeat Kid and Killer, pleaded for their lives. The crew offered their Poneglyph rubbings. Dorry and Brogy's Hakoku split the Victoria Punk in half, sinking the crew and their ship.
Heat highly respects his captain, Eustass Kid. However, he views crying or pleading as pathetic, as he insulted Sanji for doing so during the Raid on Onigashima.
Heat has long, shaggy light blue hair and a Glasgow smile that stretches to the sides of his face. His black eyes have visible bone ridges on his forehead, and stitched scars are present at his chin, mouth-line, and cheeks. Thorned vine tattoos adorn his shoulders, arms, and neck. He wears a dark blue corset laced with red string, red pants with an armored pad on his right leg, and long brown boots.
Heat can breathe fire, and the details of this ability are yet to be explained. Similar to the rest of his crew, he has a strong will and is resistant to Rayleigh's Haoshoku Haki.
Wire may be named after the English rock band Wire, aligning with the theming of the Kid Pirates.
Wire's birthday, July 18, is derived from his name, as 7-18 can be associated with Wa-iyā.
