Ideo was once well-known for being the New World Central Fighting Tournament's two-time champion.
Ideo made his way into the Corrida Colosseum to compete for the Mera Mera no Mi. He was put in C Block for the battle royale. After Lucy vanquishes Hajrudin, Ideo approaches the giant's unconscious form and says, "This is a ring. You can sleep elsewhere", he uses his powerful punching abilities to knock the giant out of the ring.
After this display of power, Ideo declares that he wants to consume the Mera Mera no Mi in order to become even stronger before attacking additional C Block fighters.
Ideo was forced to battle Sai after he defeated the Funk Brothers. Both of them fought fairly, trading blows with one another. The boxer employed his explosive skills, and the member of the Chinjao Family used his Hasshoken method. They argued until they were bound in the conflict between Lucy and Chinjao.
To Gatz's and the audience's complete surprise, an angry Chinjao easily crushed and knocked Ideo out of the ring before he could even react. Afterwards, he went to the medical facility located underground to get treatment for his wounds.
As he waited his turn, he was irritated by Sai's outburst at a doctor about Chinjao. Not too long after, he was duped and cast into an underground prison with Kelly Funk and Boo, where they joined the other eliminated contestants. Afterwards, he was changed into a toy and made to labour in the underground trade port. Sugar passed out, and Ideo transformed back into himself.
Ideo and the other Colosseum fighters managed to escape to the surface after Doflamingo imprisoned Dressrosa in his "Birdcage" by using his ability to rearrange the land. Upon finding Luffy, Zoro, and Law, Ideo declared he was going to defeat Doflamingo.
He cooperated with Luffy's group, which included the Cavendish, Abdullah, Orlumbus, Elizabello II, Dagama, Hajrudin, Ucy, Blue Gilly, and the Chinjao Family. Luffy, Zoro, and Law were the targets of some of the former toys, but Ideo and the other Colosseum fighters fought them off.
Afterwards, they advanced on the royal palace and engaged Pica in combat. The group was able to advance when Pica launched an attack because Chinjao and Elizabello II broke his stone hand. Doflamingo's soldiers were overcome by Ideo and the other fighting allies.
Ideo and a few other allies withdrew as a result of Pica's subsequent attack with his other arm. They were shocked to see Luffy, Zoro, Law, Abdullah, Jeet, and Ucy climbing on Pica's arm after dodging his blow. When Luffy broke off Pica's stone head, they were equally shocked.
As soon as Pica's enormous stone body stopped moving, Ideo and his allies resumed their attack. The Colosseum fighters charged up the new King's Plateau and easily defeated the troops of the Donquixote Pirates blocking their path, with Zoro fighting Pica and Sabo fighting the Marines.
Four officers from the Donquixote Pirates confronted the Colosseum fighters as they arrived at the second level. Afterward, the fighters from the Colosseum united to make room for Luffy and Cavendish. Ideo and Dellinger faced off later on after Dellinger defeated Blue Gilly. Ideo tried to strike with a powerful blow, but Dellinger easily avoided it. Ideo was able to hit him when Pica modified the plateau's shape.
Dellinger shot a hole through Ideo's stomach in revenge. Ideo grabbed hold of Dellinger before he left the second level to help Gladius. Dellinger gave Ideo the death blow by taking off his hat and revealing his teeth. After the defeat of the majority of the Donquixote Pirates' officers, Pica ate on the wounded. Mansherry gave Ideo and the other wounded gladiators temporary healing during the last round of Doflamingo's game.
They then helped the residents escape the closing Birdcage by defeating the last of the Donquixote Pirates' subordinates on the New King's Plateau. As the Birdcage approached the main roads, the gladiators collaborated to drive it back behind Bartolomeo's barrier. Ideo eventually crumbled as the effects of Mansherry's healing abilities wore off.
Luffy was able to defeat Doflamingo and take down the Birdcage, so his efforts were not in vain. Ideo was seen sleeping at the palace with the other gladiators later that evening after the aftermath. To go after Luffy and his allies, the Marines were called into action three days after Doflamingo was defeated.
The Marines at the eastern port were subdued by Ideo, Abdullah, and Jeffrey. Later, the fighters assembled at the eastern port, getting ready to battle Issho. The fighters and the Straw Hats made a quick retreat to the escape ship as Issho got ready to attack them with all of Dressrosa's debris.
Just then, Luffy showed up and launched an attack on Issho. Issho used his gravity ability to blow Luffy away during the fight, but Hajrudin managed to catch him. Swiftly, the fighters and Straw Hats ran away over a bridge that led to a massive ship off in the distance. Issho was about to throw the debris at them when the residents of Dressrosa, who appeared to be pursuing Luffy, got in the way.
Eventually, they arrived at the Yonta Maria, Orlumbus' flagship. Once on board the ship, Ideo disclosed that Jeet, Abdullah, and Blue Gilly had joined him. Then, one of the seven organizations swore allegiance to the Straw Hats. Luffy turned down the invitation to carry out a sakazuki ceremony in order to finalise the alliance agreement.
Luffy's justification that they could do as they pleased gave the Allies the green light to go ahead and create the Straw Hat fleet. After taking their seats, Sai, Bartolomeo, Leo, Cavendish, Ideo, Orlumbus, and Hajrudin sipped from their sake cups.
They then celebrated their win over Doflamingo with a feast. After the feast, Ideo and Luffy's other allies accepted Luffy's vivre card and split up. Ideo was also given a ship by Orlumbus.
In the midst of a battle, Ideo saw two ships engaged in combat while at sea in the ship that Orlumbus gave him. Afterwards, Ideo and his gang engaged in combat with both ships' crews. The fight was resolved, and the XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance discovered that the Longleg and Longarm tribes had been at odds for a thousand years.
Ideo's group made the decision to modify their new ship using intact ship parts while stranded on an abandoned island. Ideo and his group left the crews of Longarm and Longleg behind after their new ship was finished, not caring if they made up or carried on with their feud.
Later on, the XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance made the decision to transform into the Ideo Pirates, a pirate group.
Ideo has enough confidence in his skills to compete in the Corrida Colosseum. He expresses his sole goal of becoming stronger during the C Block battle royale, which is why he wants to win the Mera Mera no Mi. He can also be very cruel; he attacked an opponent who was already unconscious without hesitation. Ideo was not shown to be influenced by greed.
Ideo showed his respect for honor during his battle with Dellinger when he pledged to keep the officer at bay long enough for Luffy to beat Doflamingo. Ideo stated that with a strong sense of resolve and pride, he would be able to show his face to those who came before him by paying back his debt to the Straw Hats.
Later on, Ideo shows that he does not have the same hatred towards the Longleg Tribe, not even finding it offensive when one of his crew members happens to be a member of that tribe.
Ideo has a dark purple beard and a tight ponytail of dark purple hair. With his sharply defined features, widow's peak, large eyelashes on his lower eyelid, and a protruding vein on the side of his head, he has a dark circle of makeup surrounding his eyes.
He belongs to the Longarm Tribe, and because of his abnormally long arms and extra elbow joint, he wears his extra joint over his head and past his shoulders. He belongs to the Longarm Tribe, and because of this he has abnormally long arms and an extra elbow joint, he wears his extra joint over his head and past his shoulders.
Usually, Ideo does this to increase the force of his punches, but he can also move these joints back to their normal positions if necessary to extend the range of motion in his arms. He has four black crosses tattooed on his chest and three piercings in his ear.
Ideo has total command over his crew in his capacity as the Ideo Pirates' captain. As a XXX-rank boxer and two-time New World Central Fighting Tournament champion, Ideo possesses exceptional boxing skills. Ideo is incredibly strong physically. He punches with a technique that causes the blow to burst upon contact.
It seems that his blows are strong enough to knock the unconscious Hajrudin's massive body upward with a single blow. As he belongs to the Longarm Tribe, his arms are longer and have an additional joint. Extending them out when needed for the extra reach and strike, he kept the extra joints almost hidden by extending them past his shoulders.
This allowed him to conceal them for a surprise attack. His shoulders are compressed, which gives him the extra strength to pack his punches with explosive power. Ideo easily defeated several strong gladiators in the Corrida Colosseum.
He even engaged in equal-opportunity combat with the powerful Hasshoken master Sai, and Chinjao was only able to defeat him because Sai distracted him. Ideo has proven to be exceptionally strong. Ideo was bleeding heavily and had been viciously pierced in the stomach by Dellinger, but he was still strong enough to take hold of Dellinger with one arm.
