Kamakiri was raised surrounded by conflict because he was a Shandia. He was told the story of Kalgara was told to him and his Shandia friends.
When Aisa mentioned that Kamakiri was still unable to defeat Enel, he became enraged and gave her a warning not to go fetch Vearth from the Upper Yard any more. After the conference, they set out to go to the God's Shrine with the warriors. Kamakiri saved Aisa during the battle, but he was hurt because Raki got distracted with Aisa's purse. The warriors withdrew to an island in the Upper Yard to the northeast.
Kamakiri intervened to stop Wyper from criticising Raki and threatening to throw the purse away. Wyper asked his fellow warriors the following morning if they were prepared to step over their fallen comrades, and only those who said "yes" would be allowed to accompany him. They all got caught up in Shura's Ordeal of String as they continued through the forest, with the exception of Wyper. Using a Reject Dial, Wyper eliminated Shura.
Wyper burned the String Cloud tying his allies together and questioned how they could win without making sacrifices when Kamakiri advised him not to use the Reject Dial once more. Braham said that since the island is enemy territory, they have to separate and cannot remain together or risk being taken prisoner once more. They got moving after the conversation.
Enel appeared and struck Kamakiri. Then, sitting still for five minutes, Enel gave Kamakiri the order to strike him. With the help of his Logia fruit, he managed to stab Enel once in the head, but Enel's conduction of electricity prevented him from doing more damage.
When Kamakiri quickly used his Burn Blade, it just kept going through the tree and Enel's 1 Million Volt Vari hit him. He told Raki to inform Wyper that Enel was too strong and had left the God's Shrine. She left, giving Kamakiri Aisa's purse. He celebrated with the Skypieans when the war was over.
After that, he and his people went back to Upper Yard, their ancestral home. They made their home there and began to share the land with the other Skypieans. Together with his allies, Kamakiri worked to rebuild the forest.
Along with Genbo and Braham, Kamakiri serves under Wyper as the guardians of Skypiea's God after the timeskip.
Kamakiri, is kinder than the other warriors, and is one of Wyper's most trusted fighters. He is also close friends with Raki and Aisa. He never loses his cool.
Kamakiri is a tan-skinned, muscular man with a Mohawk haircut and large, round, red-lensed sunglasses with a white frame. He wears two large, colourful earrings. He has two traditional Shandia wings, which are unique to their species, resting on his back.
Like the others, Kamakiri wears a grass skirt, but he is covered with an ornate red and green belt around his waist. He also has on a necklace that appears to be made of an animal's teeth or claws, as well as a vest made of light red fur.
Among the strongest Shandia fighters, Kamakiri is probably the strongest under Wyper. Enel himself praised his combat skills and offered Kamakiri the chance to kill him.
However, Kamakiri was unable to kill God due to his electricity-made body, and Enel defeated him with ease. Kamakiri also showed amazing resistance, as seen by his ability to fight even after Ohm injured him and by surviving Enel's devastating attack.
He is skilled at flying on a Jet Board and uses a spear and a burn blade as weapons.
