Madatascar Island is an island in the New World. The DX Marines possessed and ruled over it. After the organization was vanquished and its commander Smash was taken into custody, it became autonomous.
Note: This location is non-canon, and only featured in the One Piece Premier Show 2014. It isn’t a part of the main plot of the One Piece series.

Volg and Flora were working on a unique fireworks display that Flora had designed when the DX Marines arrived and took control of Madatascar Island. The unit demanded complete obedience from the islanders and outlawed the use of fireworks.
When the Straw Hat Pirates arrived at Madatascar Island, an artificial crocodile attacked them with a sandstorm, splitting them. Separated from his crew, Luffy ran upon Volg and Flora, who informed the DX Marines about the island's trouble. Luffy promised to assist them. Sanji was terrified when a fake Boa Hancock and false Law arrived in front of the crew as DX Marines.
When the rest of the crew battled their Seven Generals, Luffy rejoined his crew and engaged in battle with Smash and Bildy. The group was confused when the actual Law showed up, and Bildy demonstrated his abilities. When Caesar Clown, who the Straw Hat Pirates had captured, appeared, Bildy made a fake of Oars. At his arrival, Mihawk divided Caesar's Shinokuni in half. As Luffy defeated Smash, the island was set free, enabling the yearly celebration and scheduled fireworks.
Madatascar Island's landscape resembles the layout of the WaterWorld stage at Universal Studios Japan. Not much is known of it.
The people of Madatascar Island hold a festival every year. Fireworks were forbidden while the DX Marines were in charge, but Volg and Flora devised displays for the festival. The liberation of the island was followed by the festivity as usual.

Its name could have been inspired by Madagascar, an island nation off the east coast of Africa.
