Initially suspected by Tilestone and Peepley Lulu as potential assassins targeting Iceburg, Michael, and Hoichael encountered Zoro during the Post-Enies Lobby Arc in Water 7. Attempting to mug Zoro, they were swiftly defeated, and Zoro forced them to guide him back to Galley-La Headquarters.
Later, in anime only episode, Michael and Hoichael ask Zoro to be their elder brother, but he declines. Despite their efforts to assist him in finding a new sword, Zoro tried to part ways. However, they kept finding him, knowing the backstreets well. When Zoro attempted to escape, they caught up every time.
Eventually, Zoro stopped running and, frustrated, decided to knock their heads together. To his surprise, a woman witnessed the scene and attacked Zoro, revealing herself as their orphanage mother, known as "Mom." Michael and Hoichael clarified the situation, and "Aunt" scolded them for causing trouble before explaining that there was work to be done. They, along with Zoro, joined Aunt and her other children for their tasks.
Back at their house, Michael and Hoichael, along with their family, treated Zoro to tea. They explained that they sold junk to Galley-La and worked together like a big family. Although Zoro intended to leave, Hoichael handed him a milk bottle, leading him to feed a baby instead of departing.
Later, the entire family, including Zoro, went shopping. Growing tired of babysitting, Zoro decided to leave. Aunt allowed him to go but instructed Michael and Hoichael to bring him back later. As the family was leaving, they encountered loansharks. Michael quietly told Hoichael to seek out "Big Bro" Zoro for help.
Hoichael found Zoro and asked for his assistance in rescuing their mom. Initially reluctant, Zoro agreed when Hoichael revealed that the loansharks had kidnapped the entire family. After Zoro defeated Mikazuki and the loansharks, they returned home. Upon bidding farewell, Michael and Hoichael, along with the rest of the family, chased Zoro through the streets as he had forgotten his shirt.
Not much is known about Michael’s personality other than the fact that he, much like Hoichael, idolizes Franky.
Michael has short spiky hair and wears a red vest with a green grass-like pattern. Underneath, he has a yellow shirt with his name and a white circle.
Hoichael does not possess any remarkable abilities.
According to SBS Volume 39, the criminal records of these individuals include acts of vandalism such as window-shattering, shoplifting, and involvement in Yagara Bull gang activity.
The fact that they share the same age and birthday raises the possibility that they may be twins, although their relationship has not been confirmed.
