Orange Town in One Piece

Orange Town was built on a patch of wilderness near the sea by the townspeople that had lost their previous home to a pirate attack. Orange Town looks like a colonial town with cobblestone streets. There is a Pet Food Shop in Orange Town which sells food for pets. The owner of the Town is Hocker and after he passed away, Chouchou protected it. There is a bar in Orange Town known as Drinker's Pub. Buggy and his crew used this bar as their hangout when they were stationed there. They also had a Refuge outside of the town where some people fled after Buggy and his crew took over.

Forty two years ago, Orange Town was built by a group of townspeople who had lost their old community to Pirates. Boddle led them and the people were slowly able to stabilize a new life and start fresh. Later on when Buggy and his clowns invaded this town, the citizens had no option but to flee to the refuge. Chouchou was the only one who remained behind to protect his late master's shop and Boddle used to come and feed him now and then.

Nami had arrived in Orange Town in order to steal Buggy's treasure. As she had stolen the map of the Grand Line, Nami was being chased by Buggy's men but she was saved by Luffy in the nick of time. In order to infiltrate Buggy's crew and steal from him more, Nami thought of a plan in which she made Luffy her captive and handed him to Buggy. In this way, Buggy got an opportunity to test out one of his special cannonballs which in return destroyed a large part of Orange Town. As Nami didn't want Luffy to suffer the same way as the town, she reluctantly joined Luffy and Roronoa Zoro and the three of them managed to fire back a Buggy Ball towards the Buggy Pirates and ran away.

They then went into hiding and started to think about how to release Luffy from the cage that he was in. This is when they met with Chouchou, the dog who guarded his late owner's shop and Boddle. Mohji, Buggy's First Mate, managed to track them down and set fire to Chouchou's shop which he tried his best to protect. Luffy saw this and got enraged. He attacked Mohji and knocked him out and then went to confront Buggy with Nami and Zoro. In the meantime, Buggy was busy destroying more of the town, this made Boddle very angry and he went straight for Buggy. Buggy was just about to attack Boddle but Luffy came in at the right time and rescued him. In order to prevent Boddle from doing anything reckless, Luffy knocked him out.

As Luffy was fighting Buggy and Zoro was fighting Cabaji, Nami used this as an opportunity to steal Buggy's treasures. Once Luffy blasted Buggy, the townspeople had just entered the town to fight off the Buggy Pirates. The townspeople had thought that the Straw Hats were also the bad guys and chased them away, Chouchou helped them escape. Luffy also left some of the treasure behind to help the townspeople rebuild their town.
