History

Past

Sadi used to have a pet when she was younger, but it died for an unknown reason. She seems to have been deeply impacted emotionally at the moment of her pet's death. She buried it.

Impel Down Arc

The first time we saw Sadi, she was outside Impel Down's gates, ordering the Marines to strengthen Impel Down's outer defense rather than helping them apprehend Monkey D. Luffy. With the help of the final three Jailer Beasts, Impel Down's troops assembled in Level 4 surprised her when she learned of the Minotaurus's destruction. She was tasked with protecting the entrance to Level 5, where Magellan surmised Luffy would go.

Then, as they waited, she was observed serving them sake. Following Luffy's capture, she proceeded to Level 3 and gave the Jailer Beasts and her other minions orders to find Bon Kurei, who had secretly slipped to Level 5 without their knowledge.

When the Jailer Beasts failed to find him, Sadi grew enraged and punished them severely with whippings. Following Luffy, Emporio Ivankov, Inazuma, Jinbe, and Crocodile's escape from Level 6, Hannyabal gave her the order to descend to Level 4 and face them directly.

She is shown expressing disbelief among the other guards following the easy defeat of three of the Jailer Beasts by Luffy, Jinbe, and Crocodile. Enraged by this, she launches her attack, destroying a portion of the bridge over the Pool of Blood and many other captives with her whip. When Luffy gets close to attacking her, Iva pushes him over the Chief Guard and takes on Sadi alone.

Sadi further proves her mettle in their struggle, demolishing the surroundings with her powerful lashing and evading the majority of Ivankov's blows with remarkable quickness. Ivankov stole her whip despite her best attempts, and it was discovered that she had suffered many injuries, including a backache. She was bound with her whip, which dangled from the ceiling, and Magellan gave his men the command to free her.

Later, once she has recovered, she uses a whipping to rouse the Jailer Beasts and gives them orders to ascend to Level 1 to put an end to the disturbance on that floor.

From the Decks of the World

Saldeath accompanied Sadi, who had lately fallen in love with Magellan, now a vice warden after the time leap.

Personality

Sadi in One Piece
Still from the anime

Sadi is a vicious lady who takes pleasure in torturing and causing suffering to everyone, including her Marine buddies. She gets a kick out of hearing their cries and becomes erotically pleased. Her flamboyant demeanor and exaggerated emotions, however, make her more of a humorous figure than a sexual one. She also declined the Marines' offer of aid, presumably due to her intense pride in Impel Down's nearly flawless defenses.

Appearance

Sadi is a tall, rather slender woman with long, disheveled orange hair that falls over her eyes. She wears an extremely skimpy pink costume with a devil motif. Her fringe, which adorns her waist as well, merely covers the upper portion of her bare breasts. Her sleeves are lengthy and taper into elegant rips. On her stomach, there is a golden ring that connects two straps from below and one from above.

She has a scarf-like cloak around her neck that is pale pink inside and white outside. She's wearing high-heeled shoes with a curving, spike-decorated tip, and earrings styled like candles. She wears a headgear that looks like horns and holds a pitchfork. She used to wear a black frock and headband as a child. Her hair hid her eyes, and she wore black shoes. She is shown being sad over a hamster while standing next to a little makeshift cemetery.

Sadi’s abilities, strengths, and fighting style

Sadi is Impel Down's chief guard and has some control over lesser-ranking aides. As the leader of the five Jailer Beasts, she possesses strength greater than the sum of their abilities, causing them to crouch in dread whenever the sadist becomes enraged. She proved to have incredible evasive skills and could easily keep up with the Okama's speed during her battle with Ivankov.

Sadi’s special abilities

Weapons

Sadi can use the specially crafted whip that is concealed in the pitchfork she always carries with her. She used it to remove a portion of the heavy stone bridge that over the Pool of Blood during Luffy and Iva's group escape.
