Sanjuan Wolf’s history

Past

He was born ninety-nine years ago in the West Blue. At some point, he consumed the Deka Deka no Mi, which is what gave him his famous size. As the only known giant of his size, he rose to fame as one of the world's most feared criminals. However, he was ultimately apprehended by the World Government and given a life sentence in Impel Down, Level 6, effectively erasing him from history.

Summit War Saga

Sanjuan Wolf and the Blackbeard pirates.

The Level 6 inmates were made to fight to the death in their cells when Blackbeard and his crew arrived at Impel Down. He was freed and joined the Blackbeard pirates after he got out of prison.

He hid behind Marine Headquarters when the Blackbeard Pirates arrived at the Summit War of Marineford, and the Marines were amused when they saw and identified him. Wolf left with his crew when Shanks came to put an end to the fight, although he did not take part in the killing of Whitebeard.

Wolf was partially responsible for the destruction of the Blackbeard Pirates' log raft, which prevented them from continuing to the New World. Intending to exchange Jewelry Bonney and her crew for a Marine battleship, they routed them to a burning island.

Wolf stood in the ocean close to the coast and complained about the heat, losing strength, and getting bitten by a fish while they waited for the Marines to arrive. Then, realizing that Admiral Akainu would not make the bargain with them and that it would be too much bother to fight him, the Blackbeard Pirates had to leave the island after spotting him on the approaching Marine battleship.

During timeskip

The Blackbeard Pirates engaged the remaining Whitebeard Pirates in battle a year after the war at Marineford and emerged victorious. The World Government officially proclaimed the Blackbeard Pirates to be an Emperor's crew as a result of this triumph and the fact that Teach had taken over the majority of Whitebeard's old domain. The Blackbeard Pirates eventually grew, and Wolf was appointed as one of the Ten Titanic Captains, commanding the fleet's seventh ship.

The majority of Whitebeard's previous region was taken by the Blackbeard Pirates, thanks to Teach's knowledge of it. The crew started looking for strong Devil Fruit users to kill and take their abilities once Blackbeard became an Emperor. The former Marine Admiral had frozen Wolf and several of other Blackbeard Pirates following a chance meeting with Kuzan. Blackbeard was able to get Kuzan into the crew after Wolf and the others had thawed out and they had all drunk and laughed.

Teach defeated Ochoku, and the Blackbeard Pirates were able to establish their base of operations on the island of Hachinosu due to Marine Captain Koby's intervention during the Rocky Port Incident, which was brought on by Trafalgar Law.

Whole Cake Island Saga

Later, the Revolutionary Army's headquarters, Baltigo, was attacked by the Blackbeard Pirates. By the time Cipher Pol and the Marines arrived, Baltigo had been destroyed, but the Revolutionary Army managed to get away, and the Blackbeard Pirates retreated after a brief altercation with Cipher Pol.

Final Saga

Sanjuan Wolf thrown into the sea by Garp's punch.

Later, Sanjuan Wolf was on Hachinosu when the Marine troops, under the command of Garp and SWORD, attacked the island to free Koby, who had been held captive there. However, at the time of the attack, Sanjuan Wolf was asleep. At one point, Garp threw him into the sea. He and the other Blackbeard Pirates surrounded Garp after he was saved, while Garp laid on the ground, with Kuzan stabbing him in the chest with an icicle.

Despite his huge size causing other structures to collapse, Wolf helped rebuild Hachinosu by taking up and placing down buildings. Later, he heard Teach's conversation with the Titanic Captains.

Sanjuan Wolf’s personality

Wolf appears to have a light attitude despite being renowned for crimes that led to his existence being forgotten, as seen by his comment that he was discovered while attempting to hide behind Marine Headquarters. He is also quite shy, as evidenced by his fearful behavior when others recognize him and his constant hiding as the rest of the crew battled Whitebeard.

He ended up being the only individual there who did not participate in battle. As evidenced by the Blackbeard Pirates' journey to the New World, he is likewise prone to complaining. He is revealed to be devoted to Blackbeard despite his whining and lack of involvement. He is also a heavy sleeper.

Sanjuan Wolf’s appearance

Sanjuan Wolf's appearance in the coloured manga.

Wolf is a giant of extraordinary size, standing at least 180 meters tall and dwarfing even the largest creatures to date, such as Oars or Little Oars Jr., thanks in part to his Devil Fruit. He is so massive that he seems to be around the same size as Marine Headquarters at Marineford. But his actual size is still a mystery.

His spiky, spherical, and beige hair resembles a chestnut shell, which is also the shape of his head and the way his brown beard grows. His characteristics include wide eyes with dark lines surrounding them and downward-pointing eyelash-like marks that mirror those on Franky's face. He is constantly barefoot and is dressed in his Impel Down jail uniform. In comparison to the rest of his body, his legs are stubby and thin, while his arms are long, lean, muscular, and hairy. His body is large and somewhat chubby.

Following the time skip, Wolf wears clothing similar to the Giants of Elbaph, including a dark cape tied over his right chest with a bright medallion and dark pants with a huge, studded belt with a skull buckle. He does not wear an upper-body garment. He seems to have thrown away the cape after the Marines raided the island.

Sanjuan Wolf’s abilities

Sanjuan Wolf.

While Wolf's powers are still unknown, when he was captured by the World Government, he was strong enough to be imprisoned in Level 6 of Impel Down, where even Emporio Ivankov identified him as one of the most dangerous inmates.

The fact that he was among the people who survived the battle royale and was, therefore, among the strongest inmates when Blackbeard recruited the Level 6 inmates is further indication of his strength. Since the time skip, he has grown to be one of Blackbeard's "Ten Titanic Captains," personally defending the Emperor and gaining considerable power over their Seventh Ship and all of its crew.

Despite his immense power and slower aging than a human, Wolf was easily overcome by Marine veteran Monkey D. Garp since he is a giant. He might have been taken by surprise, though, because he was asleep at the time. He is extremely clever despite his huge stature, managing to get to Marineford undetected until he was directly behind the Marine Headquarters building and made his presence known.

Devil Fruit

Sanjuan Wolf.

Wolf is far larger than other giants since he consumed the Deka Deka no Mi, a Devil Fruit of the Paramecia variety. He was tall enough to stand in the ocean despite being weak against the sea, but Wolf did say that it was exhausting for him to do so, most likely because of the Devil Fruit he had consumed.
