At some point in the past, Capone Bege devoured the Shiro Shiro no Mi (Castle-Castle) Devil Fruit.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Shiro Shiro no Mi

Strengths

The main strength of this fruit is that it allows the user to become a living fortress, with many openings inside their body, including cannon parts, portcullis and drawbridges; deeper inside contains various rooms, ranging from stone brick rooms for combat to well-furnished meeting halls, complete with long-table, chairs, and even decorations. The user may hold even living people inside their body by shrinking their proportions as long as they are around.

When the items and people inside the user exit, they revert to their original size. This can be accomplished by exiting a specific distance away from the body, as indicated by a pinkish coating of an unknown aura centered on the user’s location, or by using a unique alternate route, such as the Mirro-World. When someone enters this atmosphere, they are drawn into the castle. The shrinking effect is removed when the user expands to unleash the full size of the castle. Furthermore, the user’s castle walls can be placed in a circle pattern to provide 360 degrees of protection and attack coverage, as well as the ability to punch decisive surprise ambushes.

As long as the individual does not manifest castle features on their exterior body, their internal castle features will remain hidden and unnoticed. This has the advantage of lulling others into a false feeling of security, as they believe they are confronting a lone combatant who appears to be weak in armaments on the surface, only for the fruit’s user to expose the militia and weaponry hidden within.

If the user does not want to engage in combat, they can protect themselves by freeing their subordinates and allowing them to fight for them. The user can also use their body as a recreational storage facility, as they are seen to keep food and drink for subordinates and any outsiders. The user has complete control over the castle within their body and can telekinetically move around and manufacture objects from within as desired. Movement from the outside, on the other hand, appears to have no effect on the interior.

The user also appears to be able to create a miniature version of themselves using a mysterious fluid in order to communicate with those within; however, once inside their own body, the user can only talk in order to be heard. They can be attentive and move around in the real world while still being in their own body. If the exterior body sustains harm, the miniature counterpart will reflect that damage on itself, suffering agony and displaying apparent injuries on the equal site of the injured area.

Additionally, the user can transform their body into an actual fortress, resembling a humanoid golem; while they retain their human shape, they will increase greatly in size as their skin turns to stone and the rooms in the castle become life-sized. The stronghold possesses tremendous defensive capability, being resistant to cannon fire and able to survive a savage beating from the Emperor Big Mom (at least for a while), making it an appropriate sage heaven in the midst of a battlefield. The user can transform their body into fortress components such as tank treads.

Weaknesses

So far, this Devil Fruit has shown no direct aggressive abilities that affect anyone other than the user. The entire power of this Devil Fruit appears to be dependent on the presence of other people within the user’s fortress body in order to wield weapons and launch ambushes against dangers outside it.

If the user inhales smoke or other similar pollutants, the insides will get contaminated, potentially impairing the user’s own subordinates. Because anyone can escape his body if they merely exit through an opening, the user must constantly monitor prisoners or keep the doors closed.

The fortress’s interiors can also sustain structural damage, such as catching fire, however it is unknown how this affects his body. When in full fortress form, the castle is strong but not impregnable defensively. Because the fortress is the user’s own body, any damage done to the walls injures the user. If the massive castle is destroyed, the user will perish, and anybody who takes refuge there will be expelled into the open. The gigantic fortress’ cannon appears to have limited ammunition, and it can become clogged by extraneous items, causing it to backfire. Furthermore, the fortress’s mobile strength can be restricted by suitable strength, such as specific confectionery.

Aside from that, the user is vulnerable to the normal Devil Fruit flaws.

Usage and Techniques of the Shiro Shiro no Mi

Capone Bege typically uses his abilities to execute strong surprise assaults on unsuspecting opponents. Holding his entire crew within his own body, they can fire guns or launch cannon blasts from his body, which returns to full size as they leave Bege’s ability’s border. The troops can even rush outside their captain’s body on horseback to overrun and surround their opponents. All of this culminates in gunfire, cannon volleys, and cavalry suddenly appearing out of nowhere from a single individual.

Bege also uses this ability to construct a private space for him to converse with others. He can appear in a liquid form when he does this. When his larger body is not moving, it becomes dormant, and his eyes glaze over; nonetheless, his body is still capable of waking if he so desires. Having his targets within his castle gives him a field edge, allowing him to outnumber his opponents by building weapons and traps anywhere he wants.

There are different types of techniques demonstrated by Capone Bege, such as:

Castle Tank

Bege, like Franky, generates tank treads around his leg area, allowing him to move at fast speeds. It’s unclear if his legs are covered with treads or turned into them; the anime shows the latter.

Rook In Voller GröBe: Big Father

Bege transforms his entire body into a large, heavily armed and fortified fortress-like golem by raising his pinky and middle fingers. The golem possesses a plethora of cannons that can fire from numerous locations across its body. For a limited time, the golem possesses great defensive power and can readily endure cannonfire. However, it is still Bege’s body, and any damage done to it injures him, and if it is destroyed, Bege will die and anyone inside will be flung out into the open. Anytime the castle was moved, the miniature version of Bege within it made enormous arm motions.

Rook: Cannon Preparation

Bege aims the cannons from one of Big Father’s shoulders.

Cannon Firing

Bege shoots with the cannons of Big Father. The cannons can be countermeasures if blocked with something resilient enough, like Katakuri’s Kochi or Perospero’s Candy Wall.

Rook: Movement

Big Father’s legs are replaced with tank treads, and it moves faster than usual, much like Castle Tank. It can also be used to trample anything in its path. Perospero’s sweet powers have been shown to be successful in blocking the movements of this technique.
