In the past, Shishilian attempted to train Carrot in swordsmanship, but Pedro commented that Carrot lacked the talent for using a sword, much to Shishilian's annoyance.
During the invasion of Zou by the Beasts Pirates, led by Jack in search of Raizo, Shishilian and the Inuarashi Musketeer Squad fought against them. Shishilian personally saved Wanda from a Gifter and ordered the agile Musketeers to guide the townspeople to safety in the forest. As dusk fell, Shishilian and the Musketeers retreated to allow Nekomamushi and the Guardians to take over the battle.
The battle against the Beasts Pirates lasted for five days. On the fifth day, Jack, losing patience, unleashed Caesar Clown's Koro gas, poisoning and weakening the Mink Tribe. As one of the strongest mink warriors, Shishilian was crucified and tortured for information regarding Raizo.
Despite the torture, he denied having any knowledge of the ninja and his whereabouts. The following day, Jack left Zou upon learning about Donquixote Doflamingo's defeat and capture. The Mink Tribe was later saved when Sanji and his group arrived on Zou.
While guarding Inuarashi's sanatorium, Shishilian threw several minks into the Bottomless Valley for speaking of sweet things in his presence. When Wanda brought the Straw Hat Pirates to see Inuarashi, Shishilian knelt before them, expressing gratitude, and allowed them to enter the sanatorium.
At 6:00 P.M., Shishilian explained the activity patterns of the city-dwellers and forest-dwellers to the Straw Hat Pirates before they fell asleep.
The following day, upon hearing the arrival of samurai, Shishilian and the minks rushed to Kurau City. When Kin'emon and Kanjuro revealed themselves, Shishilian and the minks welcomed them, revealing that Raizo was on Zou.
Kin'emon confirmed his allegiance by showing the crest of the Kozuki Family on his back. Inuarashi and Nekomamushi called a truce for the sake of Kozuki Momonosuke, recognized as their lord, bringing joy to Shishilian and the minks.
When Jack returned and attempted to destroy Zou, Shishilian and the others panicked as Zunesha retaliated, sinking Jack's fleet with one blow and calming them down.
Later, Shishilian requested to accompany the Sanji Retrieval Team to Whole Cake Island but was told to stay behind on Zou by Nekomamushi.
Shishilian later went with Inuarashi to Wano Country. They found a severely injured Tama in a wasteland. At Mt. Atama, Shishilian witnessed Inuarashi's clash with Shutenmaru. Sometime later, the Musketeers stole food and weapons from the Beasts Pirates, leaving a note blaming Shutenmaru and his gang for the thefts.
Before the raid on Onigashima, Shishilian, Wanda, and Carrot visited the graves of Pedro and Shimotsuki Yasuie. In Amigasa Village, they discussed the impact of weather conditions on their battle strategy with Nami, Nico Robin, and Carrot.
On the day of the Fire Festival, Shishilian joined the Straw Hats on the Thousand Sunny as they entered the battle with the Beasts Pirates. After Jinbe arrived to aid the rebels, Shishilian joined Trafalgar Law and the Scabbards on the Polar Tang, volunteering to lead the minks and taking part in discussions on entering Onigashima.
After infiltrating Onigashima, Shishilian joined Kin'emon in the eastern forces. They reached the Pleasure Hall owned by Black Maria, hid when Big Mom looked outside and continued with their infiltration while she was preoccupied chasing the Brachio Tank V.
After the all-out war began, Shishilian and the minks waited on the roof of the Skull Dome until Kaidou arrived with the Scabbards. When Jack and his forces arrived, the minks transformed into their Sulong forms and fought fiercely, decimating Jack's platoon. Despite their efforts, Shishilian and many other minks were wounded during the battle against Jack. When Kaidou unleashed a powerful attack, Inuarashi ordered the injured minks to retreat from the roof.
Later, Shishilian and his fellow minks cleared a path for Monkey D. Luffy on the fifth floor of the castle, allowing him to reach the roof without obstacles. Shishilian, accompanied by Bariete, informed Nekomamushi about Pedro's death and the presence of his killer, Charlotte Perospero, on the island. They then accompanied Nekomamushi to the Live Floor, where they confirmed Perospero's identity, leading to an immediate attack.
After the battle, Shishilian joined the celebration banquet with Bariete and other minks. The next day, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi retired from their roles as rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom and nominated Carrot as the next ruler. Shishilian and the Musketeers expressed support for this decision and vowed to help protect the Dukedom under Carrot's leadership.
Shishilian approaches situations with dramatic flair, often making grand gestures like leaping and expressing gratitude in an over-the-top manner. He has a strong aversion to "sweet" emotions, reacting strongly when such topics arise.
Despite this, he readily shows gratitude, kneeling before the Straw Hat Pirates and expressing indebtedness. Shishilian mourns the loss of his rival Pedro and pays respects at his grave.
Shishilian, a lion mink, has a red curly mane extending to his chest, a swirly black handlebar mustache, and a long curly tail. His attire includes a purple cape, a large black hat with a feathery pink plume, an olive-colored dress shirt with a bandolier, black pants held by a red belt, brown boots with pink fur rims, and purple gloves.
As one of the Three Inuarashi Musketeers, Shishilian holds authority over the Musketeers. He is an exceptionally powerful mink warrior, proficient in using Electro and capable of a Sulong transformation during a full moon.
Shishilian has extraordinary superhuman strength, demonstrated by effortlessly defeating multiple Artificial Zoan Devil Fruit users of the Beast Pirates with his sword strikes. He can also lift and throw large structures with his immense physical prowess. Additionally, he is swift and agile, capable of swiftly cutting down powerful foes like the Gifters Grip Trio without giving them a chance to retaliate.
Highly skilled in swordsmanship, Shishilian uses an aggressive style, swiftly and expertly cutting down enemies, including formidable Gifters with Artificial Zoan Devil Fruit abilities. He wields a rapier and can channel Electro through it.
In addition to the One Piece manga and its anime adaptation, Shishilian also appears in the following games as a playable character:
One Piece Treasure Cruise
One Piece Bon! Bon! Journey!!
He also makes a supporting appearance in One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum.
"Shishi" translates to lion in Japanese, and Shishilian's name is a combination of "Shishi" and "Sicilian."
The "shi" in his name means four in Japanese, and his birthday (4/4) may be a pun related to this.
Shishilian's tendency to throw people into the Bottomless Valley when they discuss sweet things reflects an exaggerated urban belief associated with lions tossing their cubs off cliffs to toughen them up.
His favorite food is hippo meat.
