Charlotte Pudding in One Piece

Past

Pudding was a member of the Three-Eye Tribe and is the 76th child of the Charlotte family. When she was a child, Pudding was always bullied by other children for her third eye. Her mother saw that her third eye was unattractive and told her to grow out her bangs to hide it. When Pudding reached her breaking point she thought of taking revenge on her bullies by attacking them with a knife and because of this she developed a twisted personality. She believed that everyone saw her as a monster and this made it easy for her to hurt others without feeling guilty.

When Big Mom and Vinsmoke Judge arranged hers and Sanji’s marriage it was to unite their alliances and create a strong bond between the Charlotte and Vinsmoke families. In reality, Big Mom wanted to assassinate the Vinsmoke Family in order to get access to their advanced technology and Pudding agreed to take part in the plan.

Whole Cake Island

Charlotte Pudding first met the Sanji retrieval team when she defended them and took them to her house. She was surprised to know that they were actually the Straw Hats crew and they were surprised that she was Sanji’s fiance. Later on, after dinner when Sanji and Pudding were alone, she apologized for not bringing Luffy along. Sanji then told Pudding about his abusive past with his family and she was shocked when she got to know the truth. Sanji told Pudding that he wanted Big Mom to let go of his friends in exchange for him not running away and as Pudding cried, Sanji hugged her and said that he’ll marry her.

Later on, she kidnaps Reiju and shows her true nature. She reveals that she never wanted to marry Sanji and this was all an act to set up the Vinsmoke’s assassination during the wedding day. She then told her about how Sanji proposed to her and mocked the whole incident in order to make Reiju not reveal anything to anyone. Pudding extracted her memories and replaced them with a memory of her being hit by a stray bullet and then ordered the guards to take her to the medical room.

On the day of the wedding ceremony, Pudding tried to shoot Sanji amidst the chaos, but she couldn't and broke down in front of him because he was the first one to accept her despite her third eye. Later, Big Mom went after the Straw Hats as she had been craving the wedding cake and didn't get it, so she went on a rampage. Sanji went with Pudding and Chiffon to Cacao to make a new wedding cake for Big Mom while the Straw Hats were trying to get away from Totto Land as far as possible. They were successfully able to escape when Pedro sacrificed himself to stop the Big Mom Pirates.

Egghead Arc

When the Blackbeard Pirates attacked the Heart Pirates, Pudding was sitting in the prison cell. When Polar Tang attacked and was flaunting his admiral’s strength, Pudding said that her mother would stop him if she was still. Someone pointed out that Trafalgar D. Law had supposedly killed Big Mom and said that a new era has begun and the old legends are getting torn down.

As a kid, Charlotte Pudding used to be bullied a lot because of her third eye, and because of this Linlin decided to cover her eye with her hair. Pudding felt like her mother’s puppet and cannot go against her orders despite hating her mother. The truth is that Pudding is very sensitive and can get scared easily, but she hides this side of her with her flawless acting skills. She also suffers from an inferiority complex due to people bullying her and her mother taunting her for her third eye. When Sanji told her that she was beautiful despite her third eye, Pudding became very emotional as this was the first time someone had complimented her third eye.

She has rapid mood swings which also tend to confuse her too and she wonders as to why she behaves like this once her emotions are in place. Pudding’s acting skills are top notch and she has taken advantage of a lot of people to get what she wants. She likes to mock her opponents and tells them cruel facts about themselves, and thinks that she can get away with it with her ability to manipulate memories. She tends to reveal her third eye whenever she turns evil but also thinks that her image as a good girl is really important to keep up. She likes to put effort into erasing and manipulating everyone’s memories to prevent people from getting to know her evil side.

Pudding used to be a very kind person and looked like she truly loved Sanji but when she got to know that he wanted to go back to his crew, she was willing to help him. She said that she did not want the marriage to be hell for him and she uses this kind of personality to lure his enemies into trusting her.

Charlotte Pudding is a teenager who has round reddish-brown eyes. She is short in height and has light brown hair and wears her hair in pigtails and keeps side-swept bangs. She has a third eye which is her prominent feature which she covers with her bangs. As a child, Pudding had short hair she used to keep in pigtails and wore a pink dress with a floral pattern and also a red dress with a white collar. Presently, Pudding is seen wearing a pink blouse which is a bit revealing with an orange corset, puffy red jeans, and red suspenders with matching red shoes. She is also seen wearing a frilly light purple top with a pink stripe with puffy light purple pants. During her wedding, she wore a white bridal dress with roses on both sides of her hair. Later on, she wore a chef’s outfit with a chef’s hat and an apron while making a cake for Big Mom. Before the Straw Hats escaped Totto Land, Pudding was seen wearing a cloak.

Charlotte Pudding has a strong will as she is able to withstand Big Mom’s Haoshoku Haki and can stay conscious of her loud screams. Pudding is not as strong as her siblings but has enough strength to harm her enemies. She has really great eyesight and she could tell that it was Sanji who had kicked Oven. Pudding is a master actress with a specialty in drama and can deceive people easily. Pudding can switch between an array of personality traits and can turn from her true self to a gentle and kind person. She is also a master seductress and uses her beauty to captivate men and use them to achieve her goal.

While acting, if she goes through shock then her acting can get disrupted and she won't be able to deceive people. She is also a very talented chocolatier and she said that her skills in making chocolate confectionery are superior even to the head chef of the Big Mom Pirates, Streusen. Pudding has great cartographic skills and can draw maps from her memory and give navigation instructions to people. She is also knowledgeable about navigation in the New World with a Log Pose. She is also a skilled markswoman and uses a revolver; however her skills are limited as she could not hit precisely in point-blank range.

Devil Fruit

The Memo Memo no Mi allows Pudding to extract memories of her enemies in the form of film strips. She can manipulate these memories using scissors and paste. These frames can be pulled out and left out for a very long time, and a memory altercation can be very effective at changing the person’s mind. The target may experience pain during this extraction and may pass out as a result. The fruit's magic is ineffective if the third party can reveal to the victim what actually happened. The victim can still be suspicious that the new memories are fake despite switching their memories.

Weapons

Charlotte Pudding is seen using a Walker .36 Caliber Percussion revolver which she loads with candy bullets that have great percussive power and is able to penetrate armored skeletons. Pudding used this gun to try and kill Sanji but she missed all her shots from point-blank range. She was also seen using a kitchen knife in her cafe as a way of self-defense. As a child, she used a knife to get revenge on the bullies by stabbing them.

Charlotte Linlin

Pudding is devoted to her mother, who is aware of her true nature, her own resources, and her importance to Big Mom's ambitions. She has the same violent, cruel urge as her mother. She is terrified of her mother and hates her mother for being cruel to her. Pudding is also aware that her mother's "love" for her depends mostly on how useful she is, and that she only favors her because of her potential to awaken the ability to decipher the Poneglyphs.

Lola

When Pudding was a child, she spoke highly about Lola. The two appeared to part ways peacefully. Despite the fact that the Charlotte Family views Lola as a criminal, Pudding clearly thinks highly of Lola because she declined to take the position of Minister of Chocolate as she thought Lola was more qualified.

Daifuku

Daifuku was rude to Pudding since she had failed to kill Sanji at the altar. Daifuku hit his own younger sister away to take Sanji's life because he believed she was a "useless good for nothing" for failing to do her mission. Daifuku did not complain when Pudding offered to bake a fresh wedding cake for Big Mom in spite of this.

Perospero

After tricking Big Mom into going after the Straw Hats, Perospero was terrified for his life. Pudding calmed his fears by coming up with a plan to bake another cake. Her brother expressed gratitude for what she had done to protect him from Big Mom's wrath.

Chiffon

Pudding respects Chiffon's culinary skills. Chiffon hinted that they were close by bringing up the times they had made cakes together while on their mission to save the Straw Hats. However, when they found Sanji in the Seducing Woods, Chiffon became annoyed by Pudding's obsession with him. Before they left Cacao Island, Pudding tried to protect Chiffon by attempting to talk Oven out of hurting her.

Oven

Oven shows considerable respect for Pudding, his younger sister, as he obeyed her request to remain outside the Cacao Island Sweets Factory while the replacement wedding cake was being produced. Oven lets Pudding pass after the chefs leave with the second wedding cake but ignores her when she begs him not to hurt Chiffon.

Nitro and Rabiyan

Nitro and Rabiyan, Pudding's homies, seem to be close. Even though Pudding assisted the Straw Hats in escaping her mother after the Whole Cake Chateau was destroyed, they continued to be loyal to her.

Vinsmoke Reiju

Vinsmoke Reiju thought that Pudding was "sweet" and would make a good wife for Sanji. However, it is later revealed that she had long had concerns about Pudding's personality, which caused her to carry out her own investigations. When Pudding spotted Reiju following her around, she shot Reiju in the leg to allow her true identity known and these suspicions were affirmed. Pudding discussed her future plans to have all the Vinsmokes assassinated. In an attempt to keep Reiju silent about her actual nature, Pudding erased Reiju's memories of their encounter.

Blackbeard Pirates

Blackbeard sent out his crew to kidnap Pudding and bring her to him as a prisoner. Although Pudding herself seems to be unsure of Linlin's status after the Raid on Onigashima, she mocked the Blackbeard Pirates in the hopes that if her mother was still alive, she would make them regret capturing her. The Blackbeard Pirates made fun of Pudding because they thought Big Mom was dead.

Totto Land Pirates

Pudding was raised in Totto Land where she endured recurrent abuse from the locals because of her third eye. She was mockingly called an ugly being by adults and was violently tortured by younger kids. Her attitude was eventually completely damaged and ruined by these horrible events, and she cruelly retaliated by slashing one of the bullies and ruthlessly hunting down the others. Due to the fact that she hides her third eye with her hair as an adult and presents a sweet and innocent exterior, Pudding is incredibly well-liked by the locals, who respectfully refer to her as Pudding-sama.

Sanji

When he first came to Totto Land, Pudding faked being in love with Sanji and wanted them to have a happy marriage. Pudding considered Sanji to be nothing more than a pawn and rejected the idea of getting married to him. Pudding was prepared to carry out her mother's plan during the wedding. When Sanji said that her third eye was beautiful, she broke down and was unable to shoot the first person to admire her third eye. Later, when the cake fell on top of them, Sanji jumped in to save her. She immediately started trying to kill him as they arrived, but she was unsuccessful each time. Later, while making a fresh cake for Big Mom, they were seen working well together. Pudding has always had an adoration for Sanji and gets excited anytime he accomplishes anything wonderful, like inventing a secret ingredient. Pudding was devastated and upset over Sanji leaving.

Sanji Retrieval Team

When Monkey D. Luffy and Tony Tony Chopper were about to be arrested, Pudding intervened. She welcomed Luffy's Sanji Retrieval Team into her home and fed them, giving the impression that she didn't know who they were at first. She then pretended that she wanted to help the team in getting Sanji back, expressing love for him but being willing to let him go. Because she is Big Mom's daughter, Pedro was the only one who did not trust her during their initial meeting and even suggested they restrain her. In the end, it turns out that his suspicions were true.

Pudding had a change of heart and agreed to help the retrieval team when her insane mother chased them for the wedding cake after they had destroyed it. Pudding helped the crew by leading them to the coast where their ship was parked. Pudding displayed her concern for Luffy's safety during his fight with Katakuri while making the cake for Big Mom.
