Nurse

The Nurse is an NPC in Terraria who can heal the player of all debuffs and injuries for a price. The price depends on the amount of healing required, and also increases as the game progresses. She can use syringes to attack enemies, and also to heal herself and those around her. This guide will outline the required conditions for the Nurse and the price of her services.

Required Conditions for the Nurse in Terraria

The Nurse will spawn once there is an empty house, the Merchant is in the game, and the player’s maximum health is more than 100.

How Much Does it Cost to be Healed by the Nurse in Terraria?

The Nurse charges copper equal to 75% of the health restored plus an additional 7 silver and 50 copper for every active debuff on the player. The cost of healing changes based on three factors: the current happiness of the Nurse, game progression, and the game mode (specifically Expert Mode). The Nurse’s happiness raises or lowers the price between 75% to 150% of its base price. These events increase the price of healing (only the highest applicable increase is chosen): beating the Eye of Cthulhu (3x the price), beating the Eater of Worlds / Brain of Cthulhu (10x the price), beating Queen Bee or Skeletron (25x the price), entering Hard Mode (60x the price), beating a mechanical boss (100x the price), beating Plantera (150x the price), and beating Golem (200x the price).

Conclusion

The Nurse is an early game NPC who can heal the player and remove active debuffs for a price, depending on the current happiness of the Nurse, game progression, and the game mode. The Nurse will spawn once there is an empty house, the Merchant is in the game, and the player’s maximum health is more than 100. The Nurse is an incredibly useful NPC that serves an essential role within Terraria.
