Eleonora Pons Maronese (b. June 25, 1996), also known as Lele Pons, is a Venezuelan-Americaninternet personality singer and actress.


Pons first gained prominence in 2014 on Vine, and continued to be one of the most followed creators on the platform until Vine was shut down in 2016. She is known for her catchphrase “Do It For The Vine”.


Pons was born to Luis Guillermo Pons Mendoza, who is an architect, and Ana Maronese Pivetta, who works as a paediatrician. She has Latine ancestry on her father’s side, and Italian ancestry on her mother’s side. She was born and brought up in Caracas, Venezuela until the age of five, when she moved to Miami, Florida in the United States.


She studied in Miami Country Day School and graduated from there in 2015, after which she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in social media.

Lele Pons started her career on social media as a Viner. She started Vine as a means “to make her bullies laugh”, referring to her being bullied at school. Lele coined the catchphrase “Do It For The Vine” and was also the first Viner to reach one billion loops on Vine. She won the Teen Choice Awards in 2016 for Choice Viner.


Since 2015, she has been posting onto YouTube and in the same year, she launched her jewellery collection called UNO Magnetic. She also starred in the pilot episode of MTV’s horror series ‘Scream’, in which she was the season’s first victim.


In 2016, she signed with Shots Studios and has been managed by Josh Shahidi since then. She also co-authored a novel called ‘Surviving High School’ which was based on her own high school experiences. Melissa De La Cruz is the co-author.


She starred in the 2016 romantic comedy ‘We Love You’ on YouTube Red, alongside creators Justin Dobies and Yousef Erakat. The movie was produced by YouTube and Awesomeness TV.


Eventually, she got more opportunities on mainstream media, leading her to star in music videos of artists. She is notable for appearing in “She’s Out Of Her Mind” by Blink-182, where her friend and fellow creator Hannah Stocking was also featured.


She was the host of the Latin American MTV Millennial Awards in February 2017. That same month, she also walked the ramp at Milan Fashion Week for Dolce & Gabbana and also co-hosted the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with Aitana. She also became the brand ambassador for CoverGirl.


Between February and August 2017, she starred in the music videos of “Havana” by Camila Cabello, “Downtown” by Anitta and J.Balvin, and “The Middle” by Zedd, featuring Maren Morris and Grey.
