Kane Brown is married to Katelyn Jae. He proposed to her on Easter Sunday in 2017 and announced their engagement during a concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a short time later in April 2017. Katelyn Jae Brown (b. June 19, 1992) is a well-known American musician who came into the limelight after being married to American singer Kane Brown.
American singer Kane Allen Brown was born on October 21, 1993. Social media was the first platform that brought Brown to the public’s attention. In June 2015, he released his debut EP, entitled Closer, then in October that same year, he dropped the new single “Used to Love You Sober.”
The song was a part of Brown’s EP Chapter 1, which was released in March 2016 after he signed with RCA Nashville in early 2016. On December 2, 2016, he released his debut studio album, titled Kane Brown.
Katelyn Jae was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is American-born and of Caucasian ethnicity. At West Chester University in Pennsylvania, United States, she completed her schooling and earned a degree in music management. Katelyn started pursuing a singing career and even signed a management contract.
She put her own music career on wait when she met Kane so that she could tour with the big-name country artist. Then Katelyn submitted an application for the undergraduate online music business program at The Berklee College of Music. 2019 saw her graduate. Katelyn’s degree is now able to support her husband’s career. Since she was a small child, the singer has sung.
Her family initially thought that she was only singing for fun but Katelyn’s sixth-grade choir teacher first spotted her potential when she performed “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion at a school event. The teacher recommended that Katelyn go-to voice and piano lessons. Katelyn started creating, recording and singing her own music while she was a student at Downingtown High School.
Due to scheduling conflicts, Kane could not meet Katelyn on the shoot of a music video she was working on through their shared producer; however, fate intervened a year later. “A year goes by, and the same guy that we were working with brings her to a show,” Kane explained to Radio.com. “My very first show ever, I believe it was 2015 … She didn’t want to come, and he forced her basically.”
As the musician recalled, they didn’t say much, but they didn’t need to: “We met, we didn’t talk at all, I may be said ‘hey’ to her—but I thought she was adorable, [I was] looking at her all night.”
Easter 2017 was especially memorable for the couple because it was the day the “One Mississippi” artist proposed to his future wife. But despite Kane’s best-laid preparations for a romantic proposal with “rose petals and everything like that,” as with the rest of their relationship, it didn’t happen that way.
