Katelyn Jae was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is American-born and of Caucasian ethnicity. At West Chester University in Pennsylvania, United States, she completed her schooling and earned a degree in music management. Katelyn started pursuing a singing career and even signed a management contract.

She put her own music career on wait when she met Kane so that she could tour with the big-name country artist. Then Katelyn submitted an application for the undergraduate online music business program at The Berklee College of Music. 2019 saw her graduate. Due to scheduling conflicts, Kane could not meet Katelyn on the shoot of a music video she was working on through their shared producer; however, fate intervened a year later. “A year goes by, and the same guy that we were working with brings her to a show,” Kane explained to Radio.com. “My very first show ever, I believe it was 2015 … She didn’t want to come, and he forced her basically.”
