Dianxi Xiaoge started by selling native Yunnan goods online, like mountain fruits and brown sugar. Despite initial scorn and low sales, Dianxi used short videos to build her company, inspired by popular online celebrities like Papi Jiang. In 2016, she began creating culinary films based on her passion for cooking and published them on Xigua Video. With no prior expertise, her debut video showed her gathering and cooking bamboo worms. Despite negative replies, she persisted, spending all of her funds and going into debt to better her films. Her hard work paid off; within a year, she had 100,000 subscribers.

In 2017, she joined Papitube, a multi-channel network launched by Papi Jiang. This arrangement enabled her to become a full-time video developer, resulting in increased audience and revenues. By 2018, her YouTube account had over a million followers in three months, thanks to a viral video showing her preparing hamburgers for her grandparents. As her work acquired worldwide traction, abroad Chinese students translated her videos, broadening her reach.

Dianxi Xiaoge's achievements garnered her multiple awards. In 2019, she won three prizes at Weibo's Weibo Celebrity Festival and was appointed a public welfare ambassador by the Yunnan Youth Entrepreneurship Association. In 2020, the Baoshan Culture and Tourism Bureau selected her for the position of Cultural and Tourism Promotion Ambassador. In addition, the South China Morning Post named her one of "9 Chinese women who made a big difference in 2020." Throughout her travels, Dianxi Xiaoge stays committed to her work, often recording and editing movies from her hometown, and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party.

Dianxi Xiaoge, also known as Dong Meihua, was born in 1990 in Shidian County, Baoshan, a prefecture-level city in southwestern China's Yunnan province bordering Myanmar. Her father's name is Dong Chaoyu. She has a younger sister, Axia, and a younger brother, Xiaohao, who occasionally features in her films.

Dianxi Xiaoge graduated from Sichuan Police College in 2012, hoping to pursue a job outside of her birthplace of Yunnan. Despite her police background, she took a marketing position at an Internet company and worked there for nearly four years. Her first plan was to buy a house in Chongqing and move in with her parents. However, her intentions changed significantly in 2016 when her father had a heart attack and required surgery.

Dianxi Xiaoge boasts a following of over 11.1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, and the main content of the channel is recipes and food vlogging videos.
