Over his career, Ömer has received a great deal of criticism for his material. Many expressed disapproval of his material due to its abundance of dark and politically inappropriate humour as well as its repetition. His use of offensive words and slurs, mostly the N-word and its variations, as the joke's butt in a couple of his films only served to heighten criticism. One of his routines involves tricking the audience into believing he is going to pronounce the N-word, only to change to a different word that begins with the letter "N".His "click on this video if you don't" strategy, which forces viewers to click his videos by implying that they belong to the LGBT community or that someone will treat him inappropriately, is another approach that he frequently gets criticised for.

Oogway released a song called "Adolf Hitler is My N***a" on May 19, 2024.
