Nikocado Avocado, a renowned YouTuber known for his mukbang videos, debuted his primary channel on May 27, 2014. However, the first videos on his channel were posted in 2016. Initially, his articles focused on a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. On September 2, 2016, he posted a video describing his worsening mental health, which he ascribed primarily to veganism. Perry was born on May 19, 1992, in Kherson and adopted as an infant by an American family, who reared him in Pennsylvania. He earned a degree in violin performance from the Catholic University of America's Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Dramatic Arts. During this time, he also played at Carnegie Hall. Perry worked as a freelance violinist in 2011 and 2012 while also working at Home Depot. In 2013, he relocated to New York City to join a Broadway orchestra but met stiff competition, making it difficult to make a livelihood amid so many excellent musicians.

In December 2019, Nikocado Avocado became embroiled in a scandal after fellow video producer Stephanie Soo accused him of harassment. Soo alleged that Perry sent her frightening text messages and even took illegal images inside her house, making her feel violated and uncomfortable. In response to these charges, Perry made a video in which he categorically denied any misconduct. In the video, he showed the shots he had taken and said that Soo was completely aware of him recording them. He also published sections of their text messages, stating that Soo abruptly cancelled a scheduled partnership, complicating the matter even more. Adding to the animosity, Zach Choi, another mukbanger who had previously worked with Perry and Soo, publicly distanced himself from the scenario. Choi retained an attorney to investigate legal action regarding Perry's accusations, but no legal actions were ever started. Later, Perry stated that the entire conflict might have been staged, implying that it was done to improve their respective internet professions and garner more attention.
