On November 27, 2009, Stapleton joined YouTube, and on September 14, 2010, he uploaded what is thought to be his first-ever Minecraft YouTube video, titled "Minecraft Cave Adventure (1 of 3)". The video was made private along with his old Call Of Duty videos, which he uploaded before getting into Minecraft. On August 23, 2013, SSundee reached 1 million subscribers. On 28 February 2013, Ian started his alter-ego known as Derp SSundee, and his first appearance was in the video "Minecraft Mods - Corruption Dimension Mod - Mobs, Boss, Items".
When he started to record with Lanceypooh, Derp SSundee appeared with Lancey's alter-ego Eddy. In 2013, Ian joined Team Crafted. After joining, he acquired more recognition as a Minecraft YouTuber. His time with the group would see him upload many funny gaming videos. In mid-2014, Ian left Team Crafted for an unknown reason.
On 19 November 2013, SSundee uploaded Minecraft SuperCraft Bros 45 where he collaborated with Lanceypooh. The duo began to create many Minecraft videos at the time. SSundee and Lancey were known as Landee. On the second episode of SSundee and Lancey's FTB Minecraft series, SSundee began being obsessed with Cobblestone. On the 27th episode, SSundee said "Cobblestone Equals Life". This marked the beginning of SSundee's obsession with Cobblestone.
Ssundee’s first-ever video dates back to September 25, 2010.
In March 2014, SSundee met Lancey. Eventually, all the series’ that they collaborated on would cease and they ended their creative relationship. At the time Crainer, a small YouTuber who used to live in Lancey's house, kept in touch with SSundee. Crainer was the main reason both left recording since Crainer recorded audio of Lancey and asked questions about SSundee, although later this was disproven.
At the time Lancey was angry due to the falling out he had with SSundee. Crainer then edited the audio so that his part wasn't in it, and sent it to SSundee, causing further tension. In 2020, Lancey uploaded a video where he told that SSundee and Lancey left the recording with each other because they had wrong information at the time. Lancey said he has no fight with SSundee. During SSundee collabs with Lancey, SSundee gained 2 million subscribers and became a well-known Minecraft content creator.
In August 2014 SSundee, a 3 million subscribed YouTuber, collaborated with Crainer, who had only 30,000 subscribers. They started a series called "SkyFactory". At first, the SkyFactory series received a lot of hate and criticism from Lancey fans. However, SSundee had no other option than to record with Crainer. SSundee and Crainer were known as Crundee.
