Liam Harrison gives some tips on landing one of his favorite counters.

Liam Harrison isn't just one of the best fighters of his generation, he's also one of its most astute teachers.

The British Muay Thai icon has lessons available on his coaching website, liamharrisontraining.com, but he also shares some of his favorite techniques for free on his Instagram page.

One of Harrison's patented counterstrikes is a devastating upstairs elbow that would certainly knock the senses out of anyone if done properly.

Liam Harrison said in his demonstration:

"If you do decide, though, to throw the left elbow against the left body shot, obviously don't stand stationary here [points to his hips]. What you don't want to happen if a body shot comes in is do that and get tagged it."

He added:

"But, if you step out, pivot your body away and move your back leg round round [the back] it will take you away from the body shot and it will kill all the power. As he steps in to throw, I'll step out and the body shot won't land."

Apart from posting his extensive knowledge of Muay Thai techniques, Harrison is hard at work in preparing for his highly anticipated comeback after nearly two years of recovering from the nasty knee injury he suffered in 2022.

Harrison will take on Japanese standout Katsuki Kitano at ONE 167 on June 7 at Impact Arena in Bangkok.

ONE 167 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Liam Harrison confident his knee will hold up for his two fights this 2024

Liam Harrison suffered one of the most devastating knee injuries ONE Championship saw in its existence.

Nong-O Hama, then the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in Harrison's left knee at ONE on Prime Video 1.

Nevertheless, Harrison is confident his left knee has healed up and could withstand whatever punishment happens in his next two fights.

He said in an interview with the South China Morning Post:

"Yeah, it's back to normal again, I'm fine. I've done the rehab. I've done all the surgery. So yeah, I'm feeling confident with my knee again. I've been rebuilding it, it's been fine."

Just a few months after Harrison takes on Kitano in Bangkok, 'Hitman' will travel to the United States to face Thai legend Seksan in a massive dream fight at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.
