Snapshots are an early access testing build for Minecraft that Mojang themselves periodically releases. These versions of the game are unrefined and include upcoming updates and changes to the game. Mojang allows players to play snapshots in order to receive feedback, bug reports, etc. Only the Java version of the game has this feature.
To play in any of the snapshots that Mojang releases you will need to follow the instructions below
Open the Minecraft launcher
Find and click the drop-down menu on the home page
Select ‘Latest snapshot’ from the menu that appears
Now launch the game
