The Eye of Ender is a craftable item that is made from blaze powder and ender pearls. It is required to locate strongholds and activate end portals, without it finishing the game is not possible. Players can craft Eyes of Ender and throw them into the air to gradually lead them to a nearby end portal inside a stronghold.
The Eye of Ender is a craftable item only, it doesn't spawn in any loot chest or is dropped by any sort of mob. Players can craft them by using blaze powder and ender pearls, simply place both items anywhere in the crafting grid to make an Eye of Ender.
The Eye of Ender is used for locating strongholds and activating end portals. When players ‘use’ the Eye of Ender it flies up into the air and moves in the direction of the nearest stronghold. Once you have located an End portal, you will need to place Eyes of Enders in the slots around the portal to activate it.
An End portal requires a total of 12 Eye of Enders to activate it and each frame-block has a 10% chance of having an Eye of Ender already placed inside. The Eye of Ender is also required to craft an End crystal and an Ender chest.
The Eye of Ender is an important item for the completion of the game as the End portal cannot be activated without it. Since they cannot be found naturally as item spawns or drop, they can be crafted by using an ender pearl and some blaze powder.
