To make Glass Panes in Minecraft, open the crafting table and place 6 blocks of glass on the grid, completely filling up the 1st and 2nd row. Then simply click it and drag it into your inventory.
When playing Minecraft glass panes are really useful, as they can shield you from any attack while also letting light inside. Many mobs can't even see your character through glass panes. They offer so many creative, decorative and useful options. Glass panes can be obtained using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch. If one is broken without a Silk Touch enchantment, it drops nothing.
In the villages and woodland mansions, glass panes naturally generate as windows. Savanna village temples are made by orange and red stained-glass panes. In the lands and temples of the Savanna village, yellow stained-glass panes make. In abandoned villages, brown stained-glass panes are generated. In the simple village temples, white stained-glass panes are made.
- 6 Glass blocks
Glass blocks are also vital for crafting some useful items in the game that will help greatly on your adventures, such as beacons, daylight sensors, glass bottles, glass panes and more. Put a sand block in the top furnace slot and put some kind of furnace fuel in the bottom slot. Lots of things can be used as furnace fuel, including coal, charcoal, lava buckets and nearly anything made out of wood. 6 glass blocks are required so 6 blocks of sand will have to be smelted.

Here is the step-by-step pictorial guide you need to follow to Make Glass Panes in Minecraft:
Open your crafting table to begin crafting glass panes with the obtained ingredients contained in your inventory. Once you open your crafting table you will have the 3x3 crafting grid similar to the picture below:
This guide explains more about how to make a crafting table.
Place 6 blocks of glass in the 3x3 crafting grid. It is important that the blocks of glass are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row and second row both, there should be 3 blocks of glass.
Drag the 16 blocks of glass panes produced from this recipe to your inventory.
Instead of the 6 regular blocks of glass in the recipe, use 6 stained blocks. Stained glass blocks can be produced by placing 8 regular glass blocks on the grid filling all cells except the one in the center (2nd cell of the second row). The remaining block should be filled with the dye of the colour you desire your glass to be stained with. The recipe is shown below:
Once you have stained glass blocks, line them up in the same way on the grid as their regular counterparts to produce a stained-glass pane like the picture below:
You cannot make glass panes horizontal (flat). If you want to make a glass floor, use glass blocks instead.
Water cannot go through glass panes but if they can get waterlogged though. Waterlogging is the mechanic that allows non-cube blocks to be filled with a water source block. Both the non-cube block and the water source block occupy the same space. If the non-cube block is destroyed, the water source block remains.
There are two mobs in the game which either explode or shoot projectiles that explode: the Creeper and the Ghast. In order to not be broken by a Ghast's fireballs, a block must have a resistance rating of 20.17 or higher, and a Creeper's explosion is even more powerful than that. Because of this, you have to be careful to not let Creepers explode near or Ghasts shoot at your glass structures.
Glass panes in Minecraft are themselves core decorative blocks within the game, with players able to leverage their favourite colours as stained-glass panes directly. The process of crafting glass is easy and the resource cost is very cheap, primarily thanks to the massive abundance of sand in the game.
