Did you know that the default White Bed in Minecraft can be colored differently? In total, there are 16 colors of beds to choose from. You can use colored Beds for aesthetic purposes, thematic reasons, or even just to tell your room apart from a friend’s. It is easy to color a bed from the default white.
For each color of bed, there is an appropriate dye and to craft a Gray Bed, the player will need at least one Gray Dye. Light colored dyes are unique in that they require white dye. However, white dye is plentiful as three can be obtained from a single bone of a skeleton. Skeletons will show up in your game at night, so seek these entities out to obtain at least two White Dye. Black Dye, on the other hand, can be crafted from a Squid from any biome.
You will need to craft Gray Dye in order to make a Gray Bed.
Interact with a Crafting Table and fill the bottom row of cells of the crafting grid with three Wooden Planks. Then, place three wool in the center row of the crafting grid.
Squid can be found in any body of water.
Skeletons spawn at Night.
Light Gray Sheep.
Sheep will regrow their Wool after eating some grass.
Any variety will do.

At night or during thunderstorms in the Overworld, the player can now sleep in Bed. Sleeping takes 5 seconds to complete and skips until the next morning. Sleeping also changes your spawn point from the world spawn to the location of the bed. However, sleeping can be interrupted if you sleep in an unsafe position.
Please ensure you are in a private area before sleeping, or you may be rudely awakened by enemy mobs. In fact, if you manage to last 3 days without sleeping, you will be haunted by specters until you finally rest. Sleeping is useful because it allows you to skip the time where mobs spawn, allowing you to continue exploring safely.
Simply press the Use key to sleep at night.
Q. Is there any other way that I can change the color of my bed?
There are two alternate ways that a player can change the color of their bed in Minecraft. One way is to craft a White Bed and then dye it, and the other option is to directly dye wool. However, the method in our guide is the most efficient.
Q. Can I craft a makeshift Crib?
While babies don’t currently exist in Minecraft, the player can still play “house” by crafting a bed and surrounding them with trapdoors. Activate the trapdoors and you will have the appearance of a bed with safety barriers which looks just like a crib.
Coloring your Bed has no gameplay benefits but it can certainly make a player more attached to their base. Typically in multiplayer games, players like to customize their homes and rooms to distinguish their belongings from their co-op partners. Not only that, one great way to add color to your room and set it apart from others is by dyeing your bed. No longer will you need to argue about whose bed is whose!
