Nether fossils have 14 variants and are composed of 5 to 27 bone blocks. These variants are: small ribs (10 bone blocks), a horizontal sternum (10 bone blocks), a small partial rib cage (6 bone blocks), a small ribcage structure (6 bone blocks), one medium rib (5 bone blocks), a large ribcage structure (21 bone blocks), three sets of large ribs (18 bone blocks), one large rib (6 bone blocks), three ascending sets of medium rbs (15 bone blocks), one larger rib (8 bone blocks), a medium rib cage structure (24 bone blocks), and a large ribcage structure (26 bone blocks). Nether fossils will never contain ore, unlike their overworld counterparts.

Nether Fossils are one of the five generated structures that never generate with loot chests, but they are a great source of bone, which is an incredibly useful resource in Minecraft.
