He started out primarily playing video games like Homefront but soon left the stampylongnose channel and started the stampylonghead one.
In May 2012, he learned about the game Minecraft and began a “Let’s Play” series based on it. His channel saw rapid growth as a result of the series, and he quickly rose to prominence on the platform. He refocused his work to be family-friendly after realising that children (6–14 years old) made up the majority of his audience.

His primary series is Stampy’s Lovely World, which he made in Minecraft for the Xbox 360. Several of his friends join him in these videos to play around or assist him with building.
On December 2, 2013, Stampy received an email from Google informing him that his YouTube channel had been terminated because he had repeatedly violated community standards and that he was not eligible to file an appeal. He described his situation in detail on Facebook and Twitter, where he started to get help from many users.
Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson tweeted, “I can’t help #savestampy because I don’t have any ashets at Google.” As a “Call to arms,” #savestampy peaked in Twitter’s trending topics, and iBallisticSquid posted a video to the community with a link to AmyLee33’s petition on Change.org. Stampy was given a “Thorough warning”, and his channel was restored.
In partnership with Maker Studios, Garrett debuted a spin-off educational YouTube series on April 25, 2015. Wonder Quest is a professionally scripted, produced, and designed television series that can be used in classrooms. Garrett has a connection to a Minecraft movie as well. The 32-page paperback, Stampy Cat: Stick with Stampy!, was published on July 28, 2016, and it includes games, jokes, and posters that involve stickers.

A. One of Stampy's well-known collaborators, Lee, was the topic of controversy in August 2015, as reported by a well-known tabloid newspaper and brought to the attention of many by another well-known YouTuber. Although Lee's controversy would only account for a small portion of the reason for Stampy's decline in popularity after his departure in September, the number of views started to decline after that point gradually and continued to do so throughout 2016.
