An extremely popular genre for YouTubers, Reaction videos as the name suggested are in essence videos of other people watching and expressing their thoughts about the videos they are watching. The primary reason this genre exploded in popularity during the pandemic is that they are easy to make as they only require a content creator to watch already existing content instead of having to think, structure, and then actually create content.

This genre also includes YouTubers and other content creators recording their live reactions while watching any form of content, mostly videos, which they also feature in their own videos. This genre also allows for huge engagement potential as viewers watching a particular YouTuber can more often than not relate to the YouTuber as they share a momentary emotional connection, as both parties can have the same emotions evoked during a video. However, there is also a chance a viewer may be against the YouTuber’s opinion and thoughts which can lead to a lot of negative engagement.
