Dye is one of the craftable options in Minecraft that is truly flexible. With white dye, players can create 16 combinations of dyes from the usual white default. Customizing Black Dye is no different than creating Light Blue Dye or any other mixed dye - simply combine White and Black to create two Gray Dyes.
To craft Gray Dye, the player will need at least one Black and White Dye. Light colored dyes are unique in that they require white dye to mix with. However, white dye is plentiful as three can be obtained from a single bone of a skeleton. Skeletons will show up in your game at night, so it is feasible to dye your bed by your second night in Minecraft. Black Dye can be crafted from Squid from any biome.
You will need both of these dyes to craft Gray Dye, as it cannot be crafted from plants.
Interact with a Crafting Table and fill the bottom row of cells of the crafting grid with three Wooden Planks. Then, place three wool in the center row of the crafting grid.
Squid can be found in any body of water.
Skeletons spawn at Night.
Good job! You now have two Gray Dye.
Press the Use key on any dyeable item to use your Gray Dye. Here is a comprehensive list of the items you can dye: Terracotta, Wool, Stained Glass, Armor, Firework Stars, Banner Patterns, Shulker Boxes, Concrete, Balloons, Glow Sticks, Beds, Candles, and Signs.

Q. Is there any other way that I can change the color of my bed?
There are two alternate ways that a player can change the color of their bed in Minecraft. One way is to craft a White Bed and then dye it, and the other option is to directly dye wool. However, the method in our guide is the most efficient.
Q. Can I make a double bed in Minecraft?
In a way, double beds can be achieved. While you cannot increase the size of one bed, beds can be placed side-by-side in order to achieve this wide look.
With 16 colors to choose from, it can be tough to select a singular color to represent yourself in the world of Minecraft. Thankfully, you do not have to choose just one and can mix-and-match to your heart's content. Black and White dye might be all too common in Minecraft but if you are looking for a fresh twist, try Gray Dye! It is unlikely that you will find many Gray Dye or gray-colored items in Minecraft, so you will likely have to craft it for yourself before you ever see it in the wild.
