In 2012, the former EuroGamer Network (now Gamer Network) launched OutsideXbox as a website dedicated to Xbox games and their community. The founding members all have experience writing about video games, including Andy Farrant, who worked for Inside Xbox in Europe; Jane Douglas, who worked for GameSpot; Mike Channell, who worked for Format. His second channel, Outside Xtra, was added to the organization in 2016 to cover the broader gaming industry beyond Xbox.
