Career

In 2015, Wang started producing infographics and YouTube videos that he shared on the community aggregation website Reddit, showcasing peculiar card interactions from Hearthstone. Wang wore a cardboard toast-shaped mask over his face up until he unintentionally showed his face in October 2016. The toast mask and username of Wang are references to the Hearthstone card SI:7 Agent. The voice line for the card when it is used in a game is “This guy’s toast.” It was dubbed “the greatest name in gaming history” by comedian Conan O’Brien.

“Playing Deathwing against his son, Nefarian” is the first video Wang uploaded on his channel seven years ago. The video is only 14-seconds long and shows Wang playing Hearthstone.

Wang participated in the ONOG Major Circuit at PAX East in March 2017. Despite finishing in the top 32, he was disqualified the following morning for snoozing. In response to an incident in which he demonstrated an exploit on stream, Wang was temporarily suspended from Hearthstone in June 2017 for a period of 72 hours. Wang joined OfflineTV, a group of content producers who live together in Los Angeles, California.

In late 2019, Wang declined a request from Blizzard to reveal a new card from the Saviors of Uldum expansion, citing his own opinions on Hearthstone and the unfavorable response from the community.

Wang returned to Twitch in April 2020 to host a brand-new non-gaming series called “Blind eDating.” The main focus of the show was playing games and dating a different girl every week.

Wang appeared in the music video for the song “Inferno” by SubUrban and Bella Poarch on August 12, 2021. Additionally, he took part in a stream that promoted the video.

Personal Life

Wang was born in Taiwan, but before he turned one, his family moved to Penang, Malaysia. Later, Wang's older brother relocated to Canada to pursue his education, and the rest of his family followed, settling in Kingston, Ontario. After initially majoring in computer science, he completed his three-year mathematics degree at the University of Waterloo. He worked as an app developer for Mercedes Benz, the NFL, and the Royal Bank of Canada before beginning his streaming career.

Janet, a fellow streamer, and Wang dated for almost two years. They began dating in 2018 and called it quits in 2020. Although "Joast" (the relationship's name) never stated the cause, Toast once implied in a Twitch stream that their breakup was related to Toast's success in the Among Us game.
