In one famous video titled "KIDS REACT to Foreign Food!!," Kendra discussed her previous experiences living in Europe, providing a distinct perspective on their topic. J House Vlogs’s Personal Life

Jeremy Johnston, who was born on October 18, 1982, grew up in a blended household. He married Kendra Niland on December 28, 2004, when they were both still in college. Following their marriage, they struggled with infertility. Kendra's first pregnancy in early 2006 resulted in a miscarriage after spotting. However, in 2007, they were expecting again, and on June 26, 2008, they had their first child, Isaac Johnston. Their Try Not to Laugh video exposed Isaac's laughing impairment.

Doctors worried that infertility may remain, but on January 20, 2010, they welcomed their second child, Elise. Elise, who is 18 months younger than Isaac, is dyslexic. Following Elise's birth, the couple had no further infertility troubles and welcomed their third child, Caleb, on February 11, 2012. Caleb was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in May 2018, and Focal Epilepsy in January 2020.

The prospect of having a fourth child was intimidating given the burden of parenting three children. However, on January 25, 2014, they joyously welcomed Laura. Jeremy said in a video for Laura's second birthday that, despite the stress, Laura had provided them much joy.

In July 2016, Kendra posted a video about their infertility experience, expressing her desire for another child. Surprisingly, the next day they realized Kendra was pregnant. Their road to Baby #5 was extremely emotional, and they documented their experiences on social media. Kendra went into labor in November 2016, and on March 1, 2017, they welcomed Janae, their fifth child.

Janae had difficulty eating and needed a feeding tube before she was two years old. In January 2019, the family relocated to Puerto Rico to provide a better experience for their children. Despite their sadness at leaving their Kansas City home, they welcomed the new journey. By July 2019, they had returned to Kansas City, with plans to relocate to Puerto Rico in the future. During their stay in Puerto Rico, Janae no longer needs her feeding tube.

On Janae's third birthday, she, Laura, and Elise awoke with influenza A, resulting in a film dubbed "😞BIRTHDAY INFLUENZA🤒" that documented their illness, including Laura's unpleasant spell of puking.
