TikTok has essentially become a promotional tool for musicians and their labels. Songs have been growing organically on the app and generally, songs that do well and trend on TikTok often end up on BillBoards Top 100 or Spotify’s viral charts. It is not unheard of for labels to hire content creators to promote their songs as well as start music challenges to get a lot of user-generated content. The #musician has over 6.3 billion views.
